erm seriously House Marik looked to have an active comunity, which appeared friendly to casual players.

I've only been here a week, but my impressions so far are that there seem to be plenty of other players on team speak when I'm online. I've been made to feel welcome in all the public drop bays and I've yet to meet anyone from the house Marik community that I wouldn't be happy to play with again.

Best week of play in MWO so far.

Why did I go Marik? Originally? This was back in the early 90's. I had an introductory Battletech Box set that just had a little 2 page synopsis of the greater world in the rulebook. I had never heard of the clans at the time. It only had the 5 great houses and their symbols. Of the 5 I thought the Eagle looked the coolest and I never looked back.

I joined because I have like the flavour of Marik, the little bit of chaos and infighting that have lead to several civil wars and more then once the splintering of FWL, which based on the limitations in the BT universe I think really would happen in a democracy as large as the FWL. That and as one of the leading economic power houses in the IS we get to build a lot of cool toys, light-gauss FTW

I joined this Faction because the biggest Part of Players went to Steiner, Davion and Kurita. As a German I understood it is not always the best to go where most other People go to.

I like the Diversity and open minded Society of the FWLM and that is reflected also in the Marik Community.

I also think that the FWL is a Beacon of Hope in the grim and dark Future that is Battletech.

Really though, marik has always been the house I defaulted to even waaaaay back in the first mechwarrior. They always had contracts. Unlike those damned liao who would often NOT PAY! ********.

I guess the decades of defaulting to Marik has instilled a loyalty in me or something.

Honestly, I have no idea how I joined. I just logged in one day, bout a month ago, and found the purple bird in my profile area.

I did a little reading on the faction and found it to my liking, but still...
WHAT DID I DO TO GET THE PURPLE BIRD???

Aym ate all the cookies, that's why we don't have any left to hand out! And PGI has yet to respond to my request for easy bake ovens installed in FWLM mechs so we're having to make due with just cookie batter and shots of 'shine made with outdated narc tubes and single heat sinks.
