That is a real, and true tragedy. Cyclops would have been great from a lore PoV.

Much as I like the Highlander and Zeus, we already have an 80 tonne mech so I vote against the Zeus. The Highlander's mobility would be a great addition to the Assault category, but I just prefer the look and sheer armour and firepower of the Devastator! Though I think I'll downgrade the Gauss Rifles (If the DVS-2 is available) to the AC-10s of the -1D, autocannons are just that much more satisfying.
Plus, Devastators just look cooler than the Highlander.

**EDIT** I'm going to clarify why I choose the Highlander. I didn't choose it because it's the best, has the most armor/weapons/punch I choose it becuase it has character. Character that I really really like. The 'Mech has a finishing move NAMED after it. Highlander Burial is FANTASTIC!

Plus I love Jump Jets. I don't mind a slow 'Mech, but I've gotta have the freedom of movement and agility which Jump Jets grant.

Decent armour and a blistering array of weaponry with good heat dissipation. Sure, it looks stupid, but I imagine Flying Debris can make it look amazing.

Seriously. We've got:

The Stalker: One of the most awesome assault 'mechs of any era with a really unique look
The Devastator: An XL engine monster loaded with extreme firepower
The Highlander: A decent enough assault 'mech with jump jets, it's real niche

Then we've got the Zeus: A subpar 'mech that has one or two alright variants and one good one but otherwise is totally in the bottom tier. It's stock variant is God awful: It's barely qualifying of a heavy 'mech's firepower, probably worse thanks to the AC/5.

I'm really not getting where this 'mech's fan base is coming from. I voted Stalker but at least I could understand the other three's appeal.

The Zues always struck me as a foot-soldier style mech. It isn't really meant to do any one thing. Its supposed to fill the cracks in the battlefield, like a mech sized infantry.

Highlander here. I like curb stomping goodness with a side order of Jump Jets

I love the Stalker, it's almost like a big brother to the Catapult with a much better loadout.

Zeus is a joy to pilot, but the way it's armed you can clearly see that the Lyrans actually do think of it as battle armor

I've never piloted the Highlander much, and I haven't even seen the Devastator in any of the previous games...

But I just can't pass up anything that has 2 Gauss and 2 PPC.
