Oh man, Mechwarrior 1 was awesome. I used to watch my father play it and got started on it from there. Barely knew what I was doing, and I loved the Shadow Hawk because it just sounded awesome. Knew nothing about heat management, just spammed my weapons as fast as I could and jumped everywhere I could. :)

I've played every PC title since.

I remember when thread titles had a subject AND predicate.... a complete thought behind it rather than just half a sentence...

...
..
.

What? The Internet NEVER had those? ..... yeah...

I'll never forget Mech 1. I had 4 lance mates and I turned my head and saw all of them firing missles out of there chest.
Cooliest thing I saw in a game back then but we are talking about 1992 or 93... LOL GOD I'm OLD!!!!

If I concentrate, I can still here the voice of my targeting system telling me what I'd locked on to. Sure, the game was a bit too arcadey, but it was the 1st.

One awesome thing I remeber about the 1st Mech game was that it was open, there were like hundreds of places you could go. And every system you went to you could do sometime of mission.
And the thing that drove me nuts was the stupid password you had to type in everytime you loaded the game..... TURN TO PAGE BLAH BLAH!

Not an order, I don't have any authority. It's just a suggestion to make the forums easier for people to use. NOW DROP AND GIVE ME 20!

I've played it all the way through many times. My standard end-game Blazing Aces lance usually ended up with me in a Battlemaster, a second BM, and then two Marauders. Sometimes I would use an all Battlemaster lance. Once I used a Warhammer lance just for the fun of it.

I still have the original 5.25" floppy disks.

If I ever come across as bossy, I apologize. Be I talking to a vet of the game, or someone new, I like taking on the mentality that we're all equals. I guess I'm just a bit of a usability nut when it comes down to it. :D

I started with MW2... Have done the same thing with other series and started at the 2nd or 3rd one a few times now and worked back. Anyways I still play it, back then I had no problem with the controls, but they drive me mad now. Like the look of the new controls of MWO (dont know anything about MW3 or 4 as Ive never actualy played them or heard about them untill getting here)

CH HOTAS Sticks.. The first Gen thunderseats, 20 in monitors... and Pentium 120s I think.. We had four of those in the back room of the shop, 3Dfx Cards LOL I feel old.

Mechwarrior was why we built them, but they were great for Tie Fighter, later on.

After work, beers, Mech (Geez was that Mech 2 so long ago).
