I remember when thread titles had a subject AND predicate.... a complete thought behind it rather than just half a sentence...

...
..
.

What? The Internet NEVER had those? ..... yeah...

You're going to have to work hard if you want to improve things around here. The way some people love to mash their period key... at probably the ... most idiotic times ...... ... is silly.... Among other things.

And I never played the oldest MW game I played was MW2, I saw that box in a store with a Madcat and the big letters, "MECHWARRIOR 2" and under it "31ST CENTURY COMBAT," and I just knew I had to have it.

That being said MW3 was my fav, and it has by far got most of my hours. Mechcommander 2 was the only one that was a day-1 buy that I specifically waited for and played like crazy when I got it. MWO could be the only other day-1 "buy."

Totally moving this...

and yes, I remember upgrading my CGA monitor to an EGA monitor so I could play MechWarrior 1. I think this is like the third time I might have said this in a thread or two but I'm not hunting down the others to merge it.

I get it. You took personal offense and now feel a baser need to retaliate however you can. Day 1 stuff :)

I was venting my frustration with the quality of many posts on the board, actually. I've seen stuff here that's worse than a pre-teen's text messages.

Sorry if you misunderstood.

I was a touch young when MW1 was out. My older brother played it, and I loved watching the big robots, and him repairing them. Loads of fun. I would give the game a go but was really awful at it. MW2: 31st Century Combat was the first mech game I really sunk my teeth into. Loved that game. My ride was the Nova because it had the most weapons. I didn't really get that there were better weapons than medium lasers at first, haha! Then came MW2: Mercs. That game was great. I was still pretty awful and I'd struggle to really have any sort of a lance before the clans came in and mopped the floor with me. After a few play throughs I'd managed to figure things out enough to be able to combat the clans.

MW3 was different, I was in high school at that point and had my head on straight(er) about how video games work. Honestly the MFB made that game super easy. MW4 was a great time too. Loved the campaigns in all 3 titles. Though it always made me sad that lights and mediums were sidelined so quickly, as I do really love the smaller chassis. Can't wait for MWO, I'm not sure I'll ever pilot anything larger than a medium!

I was introduced to the BattleTech franchise with MechWarrior 2. My family got our first PC around 1998-1999 and MW2 was one of the first games I played on it. I had a lot of memories from playing both the Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon campaigns. Sometimes I would experiment with different weapons/equipment and see what kind of chaos would happen, my favorite is using jump jets and raining fire down on targets with PPC's. :)

MechWarrior 3 and MechCommander were also memorable games because you and your lance were up against an enemy with superior tech and numbers; it felt like an ultimate test as a mech pilot. I can remember facing an Annihilator early in MW3's campaign when I'm only in a Bushwacker or Shadow Cat, it was difficult but I appreciated the necessity to change tactics/strategies for every battle.

MechWarrior 4 was more or less the same experience, even though I enjoyed the single player campaign it didn't leave a lasting impression as previous iterations. I didn't bother playing the MechAssault series since I heard they took out the simulation elements and made the game more arcade like.

I'm really glad the BattleTech franchise is making comeback and looking forward to MechWarrior Online's release!
