There's your meta-game for commanders who just want to monkey around with controlled planets.

;)

I could spend all day building and positioning mechlabs/dropship/defensive locations in a SimCity style mini-game.

And don't get me started on controlling the NPC infrantry units....

Mini-game? Are you sure? As I know those city sims, the mech controlling part would become the mini-game. :rolleyes:
