just throwing my post up because i would love to see all of the mechs in minis especially the new marauder. ^^

The probability of seeing PGI's Marauder from MWO is not high. PGI does not sell miniatures, merchandise and such things. I don't think that PGI even has the licence for it.

However, there is a very high probability that relatively soon you will be able to buy the CGL's new Marauder miniature, i.e. this one:

Those do look pretty cool, I'll admit.

But I have NO experience with 3d modeling or anything...but I might know someone who is. Anyone out in the wild, wild internet have any experience or suggestions?

If you are interested in learning a 3D modelling program, I would suggest Blender. It can be tricky to set up to your preferences, but it has two benefits:

- Tutorials can be found on YouTube.

- It's FREE! You need only download it from their site.

I definitely like to see miniatures for MWO Mechs. Some of you may not like the idea, but I also wish that they are pre-painted like the X-wing miniature game. When you are busy and have real-life commitments, high quality and well-designed pre-painted Mech minis are a godsend. Without worrying about paints, brushes and preparation time, lots of people can skip that painting obstacle and jump straight into the game.

You do know there is a battletech mini's game. It doubt its still in production, but I bet you can still find booster boxes.

you're thinking MWDA, a crappy CMG, they'd be better off playing BATTLETECH. which IS a minis game.

That would be awesome as well though I love custom painted versions so I would probably paint them my self but I would love to see all the new mechs as minis even if I would have to do a repaint keep to the classic or the new format Alpha Strike I'm trying my had at the making the mechs into files i can use to make miniatures.

The theory is because the other 3 are chicken walkers where as the summoner is a biped walker. It looks off from a tonnage perspective but i think one could argue logically that a straight legged mech would stand taller

*shrug

Any info you find on this would be appreciated! Posted Image

Long story short:

FASA sold the Battletech universe to three parties when they folded.

Microsoft got the digital rights as well as "Mech Warrior" products, it's also why the RPG dropped the name "Mech Warrior" after the third edition.

WIzKids/FanPro had the rights to Battle Tech, but after the Dark Age clix game came to it's end they sold the rights to Topps (Catalyst Games Labs) got the rights to Battle tech, as well as the Battle Tech RPG, renamed from Mechwarrior after the first printing of the 3rd edition.

Iron Wind Metals got the rights to the minatures for Battle Tech.

PGI is leasing the digital rights from Microsoft, so they cannot make physical products with out consent from Iron Wind Metals and Catalyst Games Labs (Topps).

Other games (with other licenses) apparently can do something:

Though this feature isn't online yet, pricing is unclear, too. Almost uncharacteristically that the announced it already without a knowledge of a fixed release date.

Because it is.

It is taller by 0.2 meters.
The total surface area of the Timber Wolf is quite a bit larger, however.

Actually...
Scratch that the Timber Wolf is supposed to be 0.2 meters taller than the Summoner.
12.4 meters versus 12.6; this in addition to the Timber Wolf's vastly larger surface area caused by its inclusion of Endo Steel.

All the "bigger than they should be" 'Mechs have endo steel... as endo steel means bigger skeleton and thus bigger mech.

There is no such one stop. After all, many Unseen 'Mechs still have no new art.

Not all the new designs have been released yet, so far we have seen a few published in Combat Manual: Mercenaries, Combat Manual: Kurita, The First Succession War and Unit Spotlight: The Crescent Hawks. Fans have been asking if we will see a new TRO for the redesigns but CGL has no plans outside of the mini TRO's in the Combat Manuals and Succession War books as of yet. It looks like Combat Manual: Davion will be release early next year, I would guess news of the Second Succession War book will not be far behind.

IWM's has released minis for the classic Shadow Hawk and Ostscout. Only other news I have heard was the Prototype of the new Locust was stolen from the CGL Demo Table at MechCon (that's low)

Got pics of those two?
I'm making 3D models based on a mixture of the old art and fan art, I wouldn't mind having another 'official' source of decent art to help inspire them.

The Shadowhawk is on the IWM site, the Ostscout hasn't been posted yet because IWM gives the retailers who made bulk order first dibs before selling them directly from their own site so you need to ask your fellow fans. I got my first glimps from the CGL's battletech forum:
