I wonder if someone would name his/her's "Battle Intelligent Terminal Computerised Hud"

"Reactor online, sensors online, weapons online, all systems nominal."
"Thanks B**CH!"

WOPR. And the startup security check would begin with "Shall we play a game?"

For Meds and up will be "BUFF" it stands fo Big Ugly Fat Fellow or a B-52 cause nothing rains destruction like a buff carpet bombing things
My light scout mech will be "TJ" cause I have known a few little fast numbers with that name

Well, if it's a fast mech, i'd call er' Flanker. A medium, all-around mech: Hornet.

In general if it was Female: I'd call her Misasma, or Aurora.

In general if it was Male: I'd call him... I don't know.

In spiriy of Portal 2, Wheatly.. did I spell that right?

Thinking about it... I should probably use that name only during Jihad era and only on an Arrow IV equipped mech. ;)

Otherwise I'd go with 'Eris'.

I think it would be sweet if you could give a name to your mech, like some characters in the TRO's/Novels do.

What do you guy's think? Would you pay a fee to be able to nickname your mech, or maybe the ability could be unlocked after so many matches played with the mech.

The naming of chassis variants has already been confirmed in mechlab.
I think I remember seeing elsewhere that this will show up if enemy 'mechs have you targeted for long enough.

My Wolf is known as Griever. If I can recall, the last time I was in it, the stats were like:

Engine: 375XL (86.4kph)
Internals: Endo-Steel
Armor: 12.5 Tons Ferro-Fibrous
19 Double Heatsinks (80% heat dissipation efficiency)
Armament:
(LT) Clan LRM-15 (240 ammo - 16 salvos)
(RT) Clan LRM-15 (240 ammo - 16 salvos)
(LA) Clan ER Large Laser
(LT) Clan ER Large Laser
(RA) Clan ER Large Laser

This is what I dubbed "TWF-GRV1", but I don't think PGI is going to show that. They'll probably show the Mech's base model/variant name, and just allow you to "internally" name your Mech for your own reference.

Naming your mech maybe cool, but they should have it has an unlockable at a some level you get in game, not just give it a name. pay for it no. Or maybe import an design :)

It will remain to be seen. I have included the quote in this post.

[DAVID] Yes you can! Though there’s no word on whether Paul wants to restrict others from copying his ‘Pink Thunder’ moniker.
