I always use the names of my greatest loves on my Mechs. Like the fighter and bomber pilots of WW2, I like to think of them as a link to home during the hardtimes.
My Marauder was the Annhastasia. Mimi was the name of my Awesome. My Warhammer was the Genevieve. I couldn't resist calling my Wolfhound the Erika. And my Berzerker was the Casey. And my MadCat was named for my Lady Nikki. I've re-used them a few times over the years for different mechs but these are the ones they started as. My Computers always get named for Sarah.

Probably after things in the kitchen - Catapult - "Spoons" | Hunchback - "Microwave" | Atlas - "Fridge" | Jenner - "Mouse"

Atlas with heavy weapons such as ACs or PPCs would be "Poundatron", Atlas missile boat would be "Hard Rain", and then some laser boat would be "Face Melter" and another would be "Welder", Catapult K2 with dual gauss rifles is "Snippy", Catapult with LRMs would be "Air Mail", some light mech with really high speed should be "Rage Inducer", a Dragon could be "Made in China", aaand that's it for now.
