Hmm, well if the Open Beta is in the Summer... And Summer begins in almost exactly 2 months... No, sadly, I don't think we're getting Closed Beta for another month.

You guys made a good point with the working Mechlab, but I don't think they'd release it for the very reason that it's useless if you can't playtest in game. Plus I'd bet anything that if anything, the Mechlab is going to need more fine-tuning than any other aspect of the game.

So my guess is a new 'mech that none of us expect. Possibly even an even-new-to-Battletech-canon 'mech. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything, though. :/

Hey Oswin, I have a correction to make for you. In the Design and Testing and Release process its like this: Alpha testing/design. Closed Beta with only an invited few, then OPEN beta where any and all who KNOW its going on can jump in and then apply polish then kick the game out to us for real

Given that game release =/= beta testing, a closed beta could very well be released. And it would make sense that it would happen a couple of months before the game officially starts.
Coincidentally, the 25th is also the release date for the HTC One S for T-Mobile in the USA.
