I've spent a lot of time over the past 8 years or so on various forums for not-yet-released games and I would like to compliment (bribe?) you guys (developers) on your presence here on the forums.

Never before have I seen this kind of community participation from the developers. Yes, many of them have made various informational posts etc., but this is the first time I've seen the dev's actually mingling with the fans and future players. You guys have made it very clear that you really do care about the community, and that you listen to what we have to say. That really makes PGI stand out from the crowd.

One more thing. You guys don't take yourselves too seriously. I'm an old tabletop player and I think a lot of people either don't know or have forgotten that a good tabletop or pen and paper game almost always involved lots of laughter. You guys have brought that element into this community and that is a wonderful thing.

If only someone would tell us a little something about multi-monitor support ;) Cryengine 3 was designed with multi monitor gaming in mind you know =)

You haven't met Paul Inouye yet, I take it.

@OP I capitalised the first letter of your topic title. Hope you don't mind. [/spellingnazi]

They know all there is to know about the game; they are all powerful to do as they wish on the forums; they are everywhere.

'No really, girls like a beer gut, it shows you're not afraid of famine or drought...'

'Seriously not throwing a football correctly because of carpal tunnel isn't unmanly, especially when they see that awesome HUD you just designed....'

oh...totally misleading topic thread.

At the risk of drawing flak, that sounds like an exact description of girls. All knowing, all powerful, everywhere... and no mortal will truly understand them.

Its one thing for a dev to work on a game and even be excited about it. It's another thing entirely to work on a game you grew up with and that you find sacred. Several of these guys came to work for PGI specifically because they heard PGI had the MW ip. Russ and others were BT fans before they got into the industry. So, they are fans like we are. I can only imagine the level of excitement and sense of accomplishment the devs are feeling as well as the feeling of having to get it “right”. They are their worst critics Im sure. I bet the day to day grind wears away at that excitement but Friday play test days are utterly incredible.

So, yeah. MW is in the best possible hands. They believe in it like we do. Thanks again, PGI.

Now you have me imagining reasons to buy a Geforce 680 and some monitors, why did you have to go and do that? ;)

3 monitors wide and one on top for a 2d overhead map, or the metagame universe map.

Oh, if Piranha wanted to get real friendly with Nvidia we could see this happen, I imagine Nvidia would help to tout a 680 feature.

I wonder if additional FOV would be considered too advantageous, stretching an exisitng 90 degree fov would likely be bad. Then there is the sacrifice of vertical view that may be compromised, dunno.
I would like to see it done well.

Unfortunately everything seems to me that other platforms other than pc are still open to consideration down the road, that may preclude using dev resources for features that only a small percentage of gamers would utilize/benefit from.

in multyplayer games you wont get more view with more monitors ( be real its not fair) you only can see as much as guy on one monitor.

I don't think the argument is so simple.
Widescreen monitors already should have an fov altered over standard 4:3 monitors.
There have been other competitve mp games that have had multi-monitor support.

The same can be said for good controllers having an advantage, great joystick setups or great mice.

It depends if LOS in the game is linked in any way to fov viewing angle, if not, then it's not a huge stretch to have fov altered.
If FOV stays fixed in multimonitor scenarios, then multimonitor will be useless to me.

well i you can use it but you wont get more view, mouse and joysticks doesn't give advantage, but if you can see like on that picture then thats big advantage. In what multiplayer game can you see more with multimonitors then a guy with 4:3 monitor ?

I believe Battlefield: 3 has multi-screen support.

EDIT: BOOM VIDEO - It is multiplayer mode also...

If you just capitalized the first letter, that means he spelled it correctly. You're a grammar nazi!

I just hope that when the game is complete and is officially released, we the community as a whole don't "burn bridges" with the devs by visiting this forum and endlessly, infinantly whine about how imbalanced and over powered certain 'mechs or weapons are to the point the devs won't want to be around us.

I especially fear this forum will fill up with threads full of two week old gamers (that who never went to college, never learned to code, are not gameplay experts) submitting three sentence threads on how to balance the game, or come up with horrendous ideas about how to make what they find unfair; fair.

I think you will find more people arguing with you here as well. Hopefully it's not just that you need to discount everything I say.
Proper mouse in an fps and proper controllers with a sim can make huge differences, how much a diff varies per game per player.

Realistically, more fov isn't always an advantage, as you may assume.
