Yeah same boat here.
I really really really hope MWO can come up with something better than WoT's "drive Tank_A 100000 times, buy Tank_B, rinse and repeat ad nauseum".

This is my only real concern with the game. I think WoT failed to keep things fresh -- simply adding more and more tanks with constant "power creep" isn't the way to keep a game fresh.

The difference with WoT is that there is a ongoing storyline in Battletech that will keep us occupied for years to come.
Mechs will come and go, the universe this takes place in will only keep on growing.

Dont think so, I played WoT but it was lacking that something, it felt like its not worth my time, kinda when you drink warm beer, something just wasnt there.

WoT isn't dead but it's definitely suffering already. The overall player base skill has dropped dramatically since release now that most of the old timers have gotten burned out. I don't think MWO will kill world of tanks but it will definitely expedite the process

My issue with WoT is that it makes progress desirable, prompting you to spend money, but it provides no fair options for obtaining said progress. If you want to advance past having a garage full of tier 5s/two tier 7s, you are absolutely obligated to spend either $70 for a high-level premium tank (to give you the credits needed to upgrade) or start paying for a subscription.

It's a slow game, which is cool, but slow games only get more frustrating when skill cannot guarantee you success (IE: shooting at a tier 7 as a tier 5). I won't uninstall it but I have a strong feeling MWO will overtake any and all desires I have for playing that game (since it too is slow and full of armored combat).

Gonna spend most of my free time in MWO if it will meet my expectations. (As far as i saw it will)
But I doubt MWO will greatly affect WoT in total. Too much difference in gameplay and fanbase.

Not in EU, RU or China at least. Even EU has doubled it's typical amount of concurrent users during the last year (it's 80k plus on weekday evenings these days).

I think what he said is right about WoT you can hardly play games on there anymore because you play with people who have no concept of teamwork kinda like Call of Duty games. Also when playing Wot sometimes when i was the best tank and nobody supports you it gets frustrating to play with people like that. I am really hoping the MWO will be awesome but i want to wait and see so far in the gameplay videos that they have posted this game looks fantastic i will give up on WoT probably as soon as this comes out.

Well I've already made 1 Firefly reference/quote today, so here's another:

"Do we care? Are we caring about that now?"

A poll, really? Sometimes I think polls are used just to avoid having to read the posts in ones own thread.

And I think for many (most) people MWO will have the same impact on WoT as the price of tea in china.

Some of the things I definitely don't like about WoT is when people decide to do their own thing and not help the team out at all. Or when people all decide to go one way and they all get destroyed. So I totally agree on the skill level going down on WoT. I'm currently trying to get the Jagdtiger, I am at the Jagdpanther atm..but the grinds to get the best tanks suck. I am really looking foward to this game, I mean it already looks awesome from the gameplay videos that have been released. Guess that will be the death knell of WoT for me...

and one thing MUST be in MWO - pro gaming. challenges, cups, anything. i had a huge expirience in that in -RU segment of WOT [playin' in TOP30 clans, winnin championships], To be honest, i think it's the only thing, that keeps me playin'. If MWO have this - i wount play WOT anymore

Hopefully little kids won't join up to play this game that would probably ruin it kinda like WoT and COD. But i guess if they do more kills for all the experienced playersPosted Image i just don't want play with little kids that are constantly talking about how they can't kill anybody.

Kids playing games like World of Tanks makes it less fun to play those games since they aren't skilled and they talk too much. But that means more kills for experienced players. I'm not sure about giving up on World of Tanks and going into Mechwarrior Online full-time, or continue playing both games and dividing my time between them. I mean, sometimes when I play one game for a while, then I start to get bored with it. So I might keep playing World of Tanks since it will give me something else to do if I ever need to take a break from playing Mechwarrior Online.

WoT is to MW:O as McDonalds is to Chicago Cut Steakhouse.

Just because it's everywhere doesn't mean it's good.
