Maybe I have been away from WOT too long but I almost forgot this...
  • Critical hit!
  • We nailed 'em bad!
  • That's gotta hurt!
  • Looks like that one went right through!
  • Penetration!
  • Enemy armor is damaged!
  • Enemy is hit!
  • Enemy armor is hit!
  • Punched right through their armor!
  • Nice shot!
  • We've got them!
  • They're hit!
  • We've hit them hard!
0 Damage!

It's kind of funny now...

This turned into a good thread on what MWO should not do. :)

Sadly, as a current player of WoT they have yet to fix this issue. :(

Love it when that happens...not . Also when you have a high-tier gun and it bounces off a low-tier tank's armor...example: the Lowe tank's 105mm gun bounces off an AMX-12 tank (had this happen to me when I was using my Lowe when I still had it)

I lasted two weeks in WoT because I hate it so much. I gave it up to go back to MW4....

i lasted exactly one game... and it was rather short. WoT has its fans MWO has its fans, some will cross over. but each will have their own. atleast untill WoT get too stupid and drives people off with MORE P2W

Had that happen with the lowe i was using i hit a M10 Wolverine in the side of the turret the weakest part and the 105 shell bounced off. They seriously need to fix crap like that i have the T34 premium tank and that gun sucks on it sometime it penetrates and does no damage.

I don't like it either when a high-tier gun just bounces off of a low-tier or high-tier guns bouncing off of high-tier tanks. For example, not too long ago I was in a game on Ensk, using my ISU-152. I had the 152mm BL-10 gun mounted on my ISU-152, and when I fire it at a Maus and hit it on the front armor of the hull, it just bounces off! I fire again this time aiming for the side hull armor where its armor is weaker, and the shell just bounces off. They really need to fix stuff like that. It seems like the developers are more concerned about adding new tanks than fixing obvious problems that the game has.

This and the matchmaker make me hope the servers of WoT melt like Chernobyl . Spent money and kind of regret it like meeting some hot chick where I spent the night and waking up with a nasty cold sore on the upper lip the next day :o . Not that it ever happened though ^_^

Problem with WoT, there is no reward for the time spent in some of the matches. I understand that the higher end tanks are supposed to eat credits, but a lesser tier tank cannot compete because the best way to make money is to hit the hull hitpoints and score as many hull hits as possible. Problem with those lesser tier tanks...they can't hit very often because of the thicker armor, that same armor negates the destructive power of HE, and for one shotting something you get far better rewards on average such a the top tier being level 5 (KV = 18k winning the match) shooting several level 4, but for a KV to shoot a tier 9 means you have to hit at least 5-6 or more good shots to see some significant credits generated (baring a KV setting the ammo or fuel to explode) but the KV just blows up yet it cannot out run, bounce, or take a hit against a tier 9...but a tier 4 can usually out run a KV but the KV can't out run nothing. Most often, the lesser tier tanks end up being nothing but targets to get the matches started faster.

And the maps...been playing again for about a week or so. Same freaking maps more often then not, yet there has been at least 4 new released ones since I gave up last december when I quit for 5 months. Played a total of maybe 12 times on the newer maps, which again are the size of a ******* boxing ring and I am supposed to scout (which I will no longer do because of WoT's failure system) when its easy to assume...yeah they are comming that direction. Why? Most maps have a total of 3 lines of travel, choke points galore, and a easy / west or north south direction in a boxing ring sized arena.

And based on real world stats...yeah when you got X stat trumped by Y stat then X stat tank is obsolete, please don't bother to tell me to L2P when in fact Y Stat tank just has to aim at me and Y Stat doesn't even have to challenge himself (BTW, 152mm is very innaccurate to shoot fast moving tier 3/4 but KV isn't fast against a tier 9). I would love the challenge of selecting my own matches, a nice 3 tier spread (example, tier 5 middle and -1 or +1 from there...not +3 to minus 1 of a tier 5) is far more enjoyable then a its current form. If I wanted to challenge myself, then I will take on a tier 9 and not be forced to be conscripted from a lottery system just to fluff up Mr. IS-4's score card

WoT is a good distraction, MWO will be an all consuming passion.

Why?

Grinding several weeks for a crappy concept tank that never really existed and never left the doodle pad in soviet russia, that leads to another tank that never really existed, ever.... makes me sad.

While!

Grinding several weeks for a 30ft tall battlemech that is backed by nearly 30 years of lovingly thought out background story and has the ability to be almost fully customised for how I want to play... totally worth it.

I like WW2 games (I miss the WW2 FPS fad, especially when compared to the modern warfare fad today), but WoT just has too many gameplay flaws for me to put serious time into it, whether or not I even have any other games to play, which I do.

Shooting 10kg slugs around at 300m/s? That's cool.

Shooting 125kg slugs around at 3000m/s? That's awesome!

I have right under 3.5k battles right now. Will I leave WoT for MW:O. Probly, I don't think WoT will be able to hold my attention after this game comes out.

Also type-59s are a horrible tank I wish they would bring them back into the game lol. I hunt the ones still around in a T-50 every chance I get. Their screems are wonderful to my ears :)

Probly should get my T-50-2 at some point, just to make it easer to kill em lol.

I've got over 5000 battles logged in WOT. Pilot handle orbmonky

If this game lives up to anything like what it -seems- to be, I won't be looking back.

It's like 100k+ xp, it was taking forever. And playing the T-50 when Tier VIII's making up much of the game is just painful. You can't even risk scouting and taking aoe dmg, a track gets hit and you are immediate toast. Makes the scouts role somewhat useless. Makes leveling that tank a real grind after 60k. Their matchmaker is their psychological tool used to make people grind, a shame.

I feel that WoT is a not a very good game. I thought It'd be driving tanks around shooting at stuff, when it's actually dice rolls in disguise. I consistantly face tanks 2 or more tiers above my own and can do no damage regardless of ammunition type or "shooting" towards weak points. In MWLL I could fight an atlas with an owens and while I couldn't probably destroy it, my weapons hit where I aim and do consistent damage. From the gameplay video of MW:O, it appears the machines operate in a similar fashion, no ricochet from ac20 ect. So far the robots are +1 and the experimental tanks of WWII 0.

Though I started specializing in orbital bombardment in Wot(arty), which has significantly improved my survivability and nets 1-5 kills a match.

On topic: MW:O and WoT offer two different things, so I doubt robots will cause substantial loss of players.

I suspect this forum is hardly an unbiased group for determining how well World of Tanks will do in the future. ^_^

not really... I asked people what they were GOING to do, no wild speculation here. just trying to get a feel for whether people who play WOT are going to quit WOT for this game

May be but judging from the responses here, thats what your thread has devolve into.

I'm just going to say that, when peeps talk about another video game on a different video game's forums while making comparisons...

I somehow doubt everybody is an "expert" in said games.

so, some early data from the poll I put on WOT, because someone pointed out that this isn't the most unbiased place to put this poll

http://forum.worldof...-habits-on-wot/

not that many people have posted (41) but the early data from there doesn't look good for WOT
43% will have little or no time for WOT once MWO comes out
another 26% will be splitting their time

and more to the point...
36% say they will only pay for MWO
19% say they will be paying for both
17% never spend money

I know it is a small sample size... but that is BAD for WOT if that is an accurate sample
