And its as ugly as the raven always has been.

I agree with the former, but disagree with latter.
This is far from ugly:

This 'Mech is top shelf material in its own ways, sexy chicken legs! B)

With all these new 'Mechs on the roster I can't help but wonder if there will be an arena on Solaris VII for FFA (or even 2v2x8) style matches *cough against players*.

Srry piranha gonna be honest i quite dislike this one. It looks more like a dog than a raven. I think this is the first art ive seen from fd that looks worse than the original. Although that may be because original raven had one of the best artwork that ever made for bt. Still thats no excuse, and i'd much prefer a redraw.

Art is subjective. I think the droopy Gonzo nose is super fugly.

Nice redesign, I know many of you like the original, but I find this one to seem more realistic, it reminds me of the F-117 Nighthawk, and I for one, love that plane.

Glad it's a light. Not too fond of the redesign, but the Raven needed to be here.

As a side note about the fluff, what the heck was the Awesome doing hiding by himself? 3/5 Energy based fire support, why not just push ahead with an Annihilator while your at it...

Hope the firestarter gets in eventually.

Incredible reveal.

I do believe I have found my ride.

That said, this is one of Liao's best mechs sporting a Davion insignia. We're being gifted and trolled at the same time.

Can anyone please fix this sacrilege?

Problem is, Capellans should NOT make any F-117 Nighthawk. They are Chinese-Russians (with scots mostly from Highlanders) and those do not make fugly planes like F-117 Nighthawk. ;)

I just realised this is the first mech outside of the Battletech Universe guide. But we are still suspicious about the inclousion of Grasshopper.

Narc beacons? Very cool. I love the tech...kinda miss the curve of the beak-like point, but otherwise, some good work.

I for one find this a lot better looking than the current Raven design. It's the only one of the first 9 of which the design I don't like.

*sigh* just because it's called a raven, it doesn't mean that it has to look anything like a raven.. The previous designs of this mech seemed to have been drawn to have the aesthetics reflect the name, while this redesign definitely gives the mech are more practical look, especially with the smaller cockpit and "beak" region.. simply put, the new raven looks like it could be a real, high tech war machine, and not just some science-fantasy mech.

Since I discovered Mechwarrior On Line I've been inclined towards light mechs. Now the only thing that would take me away from the Raven would be my beloved Marauder.

That curved armor would also be a NIGHTMARE for Logistics/Supply in the field. How the heck are you going to replace that armor quickly and easily? You need it to be specially molded, and you have to carry around spares specifically tailored to a SINGLE mech.

This will always be the case, but the more common you can get (big slabs instead of curved surfaces), the easier, and cheaper, life will be.

I've always been a Raven fan, and looked forward to seeing in for the new game ... sadly don't like the new look :-( but I'll wait to see it in glorious 3D,
