Ok, firstly, this is gonna sound similar to other threads or parts there of, but bear with me. I have noticed that daily counts of posts by any user sometimes goes up and down. By this I mean for example, a persons TOTAL post count rises while the number of posts he or she made during a given day fell even tho they were actively posting. I noticed my count is acting odd. dropping at random intervals. Any idea whats going on?

The posts per day isn't the number of posts they made that day, it's the average number of posts they make per day based on their total number of posts.

Not talking about the avg per day, if you go to the forums tab, and scroll down, you will see a tab at bottom right saying top 20 posters. I know I am like number 2 for today with Hayashi above me, but, what has me concerned is the number of posts made by me in the last 24 hours is FALLING. I dont care if I am 1 or 20 or 400, my concern is, that number is falling for me and me alone. if it is as you say, then ALL of us should be dropping, especially those who are logged out. While my total for 1 day is falling, my grand total is climbing. It isnt making mathmatical sense. its 1 = -1 at this point. and thats just not right. either its glitched since the site patch yesterday or somethings up.

last 24 hours - I guess they are doing it on a strict 24 hours basis ie you check at 15:30 and you have 61 posts you make another two posts but at 16:00 your count is at 58 because yesterday you made 5 posts between 15:30 and 16:00 (61 + 2 = 63 - 5 = 58).

I think that's what it is anyway.

because you posted almost 100 times today and broke the server lol

No Runz is most likely correct. When sampled over a 24 hour period, every time ratings are recalculated your number will rise and drop unless you post at a constant rate during every interval. The other option is at 12 pst (or your time zone, in my case est) you count is wiped to zero and you reset once more.

Case in point: either post constantly at a consistent rate, or your count will drop always. You don't get beta keys for being at the top however
