meh... it's not worth it. the forums have decided and the exit polls have shown that 98% of us believe that if 3pv is ever implemented armageddon himself is going to come down on our arses and burn us all to hell.

wait and see what will happen to these forums when they hear that their precious little game is being ported (with 3pv) to their xbox and ps3.

Won't happen... They don't have the license to make the game for PS3.

Even if they did put it on X-Box, all x-box is is a gimped PC. So no worries anyway. The advantage would rest with the mouse user.

I am going to withold judgement on the 3PV until I see some footage from PGI showing how this will work compared to previous MW games. I guess it hasn't been as big an issue using third person in MW because it was largely singleplayer back then. MW2 was singleplayer majorally unless you had plenty of friends, a big enough location and food to run a LAN party :) otherwise it was slow as hell dial ups.

MW2 Mercenaries was the much the same but buggy as hell, still fun though. MW3 was probably the best for story and seemed to have a larger emphasis on story compared to MW2. Still internet speeds sucked and relied on group gaming or patient friends. MW4 was the first to feature multiplayer commonly and it was interesting to see how people reacted. I remember there being plenty of complaints back then about 3PV having the advantage but MWO is very different.

We know there will different queues which sucks because it will split the CW playerbase (when CW arrives) and might **** some players off enough to leave for good. I hope they don't split the community, but make the 3PV cam balanced enough so as not to give players an unfair advantage. Still until we see it we won't know. At the moment this is all conjecture until we have the facts.

After all their "GREAT" work listening to us, you all actually think they will give us a workable 3rd person view??!?

They stated CW is FPV only. So...

I hope they reconsider too....implementing 3PV that is :P

Needless to say, I am interested to see this "minimal advantage" POV they are announcing and has been tested somewhat internally. Sometimes, PGI pleasantly surprises me.

I have two things to say regarding this. One, Armageddon is not a person, it is a place. It's where Christ will... well, it's a long story. Read the Bible. XD Two, you must not be too worried about it because you are, according to your profile, ALREADY IN HELL. O.O Just in case that 98% is right... put in a good word for us, will you? :D Hehehe. Also, while I have this opportunity... how's the weather down there? Is it a dry heat?

Should a link between MCs and 3PV be established (like a purchasable module for example) the forum will become an even more interesting place.

A 3pv module would not really help the new guys much - it would just give advantage to those who can afford it.

The excuse for 3pv = Help new players
Modules = end game content

Somebody clue me in. I thought this whole 3rd person view thing was dead months ago. Is it back, did it never actually leave, what is happening? Link please.

Also, do you think that is what the Command Module has been waiting to do this whole time, add 3rd PV? It's been in game for a long time and has yet to be given a purpose.

Do you mean to tell me that even though all my sensors and other equipment are collectively showing me that there is an Atlas hiding behind a building and is facing left, the 3PV implementation should still not render the Atlas as indicated? If my brain can already figure that one out just by looking at my HUD, where is the 3PV advantage that you fear so much?

I don't fear it, I loathe it. The advantage is (if it is indeed possible to glean all of that particular information from other sensors in a given situation) that it removes the need for you to figure those things out from that information. The pilot should not be able to visually see such a thing without exposing himself to potentially being seen by that potential target. If the other sensors provide useful information that's great... the pilot should have to engage his/her brain and interpret it... not have it laid out on a golden platter visually when it would not be visually available to the pilot's view from in the cockpit.

If folks want that easy 3PV mode... fine. Give them their own 3PV matches, 3PV CW and 3PV ELO.

It never actually left.

Gremlich Johns: When the CW mode is implemented, will it be 1st Person View only?
A: We haven’t decided on the final format. Both 3rd and 1st person will be available options, however we have yet to confirm how one or the other will be selected for specific scenarios, like Merc Corp vs Merc Corp.

And despite repeated questioning, we still have not been told authoritatively by a dev team member how it will work when a 3PV team attacks a planet defended by a 1PV team, or vice versa.

When? Where? Something more recent than 03 May 2013? If so, please post a link. Thanks.
