After downloading the latest patch, when I click on "play" the game minimizes to the bottom of my screen then disappears. I've tried opening as administrator without luck. Any suggestions?

Unless someone else comes up with a better idea or you've tried everything else, try re-installing? Patch may have messed something up

The game has been playing fine up until now. My computer specs are Q6700 core2 quad processor, radeon 5800 series video card and 4 Gig RAM.

Can I re-install the game without re-downloading? It takes about a day to download.

Nope. As this is a live game, you have to redownload it to install it.

Try doing it this way to fix the issue your having:
Remove the Game using ONLY This program: http://support.micro...l_and_uninstall
Then Re-download, Install and patch the game, try MWO and report back here.

I'm having the same issue on my laptop. - i5 2.3ghz processor, 640GB HDD, 6GB ram, 560GTXm, win7 HP 64-bit.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program after updating graphics drivers, directX, and windows itself. Still no launch.

Here's your Specs: http://us.toshiba.co...770/X775-Q7270/

And Try this:
I believe your issue is caused by your laptop having 2 video processors... So when MWO is launched it doesn't switch over to the high-end one; So to fix that we're going to force the laptop to use the high-end one.
Follow these steps below:
1. Go into your control panel.
2. Open Power Options.
3. Then set the laptop to High Performance.
4. Click Apply and OK.
5. Then try running MWO again.

Report back to let us know if it worked.

I have a very similar issue. I click on the game, the MWOnline icon flashes up, disappears, and usually the patcher comes up... now nothing, yet my Task Manager shows that there is an instance of patcher running. Nothing I've tried so far has helped.

P.S.
It worked up until last night, only today that this happened, so I don't believe it's a patch issue.

I have to keep reinstalling, game works 1 or 2 times and then fails to start, get this message;

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Already had it on high performance. I even went through the nvidia control panel and forced it to start using the nvidia card and not the integrated graphics. Still didn't launch and gave me the black window before disappearing.

What I struggle with here is the lack of any sort of error message or sound. The black window pops up, stays for a second or two, then the whole program closes out. Nothing in the event handler and no error messages popping up.

Have you all rebooted your computers? MS sent out updates the last 3 days, at least for Win8. Check your Windows Update/View Update history to see what had been updated and when.

Windows is showing no new updates, directX is saying I have the latest version, I am on a 300 series Nvidia driver meant for my laptop. CoD MW3, BF3, L4D2, Metro 2033, all work great and at high graphics settings. Integrated graphics are disabled, I have plenty of ram and hard drive space, I am on an admin account, and it is a legit copy of windows.

The problem is in the game, not my laptop.

Both of you can you upload your "Crashdump.dmp" file, to an upload site, that's located in the "C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER" Folder, then reply below with the link, and I'll help you track down the cause of your game not launching.

Your (Game starting/black-screen) issue is caused from this dll igdumd32.dll which is part of your display drivers. This means that file is either corrupt/damaged or missing.

To fix this issue either Update your drivers, or reinstall them; From here: http://www.intel.com...hd-gma#download

Let us know how it goes.
