Also; SVT-40's are a nice gun. They run about 350 and give a good ol' show, I mean its a semi-auto nagant whats not to like?

Where in the **** are you buying SVT-40s? They run about $1,200 over where I live. If I ever saw an SVT-40 for $350 I'd be on that so fast there'd be a vapor trail.

Canada is a magical land of firearms and more magic. Local gun dealers here usually add on their "fee" to order to their store directly bringing it up to roughly $350. You can do the $319 but its a lot of hoops you got to hop with the RCMP to have it go by mail or delivery let alone letting them know you ordered one, its just easier to spend the extra 30$ and get it sent to the store since RCMP don't hassle dealers very much.

Russian SKS's run $200 - $350 w/Scope, none of this cheap Chinese made ones, BIG STRONG RUSSIAN HOUSES

Russian Nagants go $90 - $150 depending on year

I have a Kel Tec SU-16a for 5 years then sold it last year. Great gun, takes alot of ques from both the AR and AK it never jammed and could put up with supid amounts of abuse and you can't beat their lifetime warranty I broke mine in half after 4 years of abuse, sent it to them and they sent me a entirely new gun with the old serial stamped in within 4 weeks. Love those guys.

I remember when 45 acp was cheap as dirt, 9mm was the hot new round and expensive. That was back in late '80's/ early '90's when they were toying with the idea of compromise 10mm for stopping power and high cap magazines. At least for reloading, 45 acp was cheaper than 9mm. Wish I'd never sold that 1911.

Nearly had a heart attack... Thanks a lot for that link. Would there be any trouble having it sent to a U.S. dealer?

Might have to pay some shipping and maybe some boarder problems but I mean I guess that if he does the paperwork (and doesn't go over the $5,000 order limit) then it would be ok. I would suggest asking your LGS about it and see what magic he can do, I mean like I said he might add a fee but if you are even getting it at $500 in the USA I know you are going to do good.

Actually, that's an urban myth. If that was the case the weapons wouldn't have been approved for sale by the BATFE.

Actually, for most rifles that were downgraded to semi-auto, there´s a simple (and in most countries legal) way...

here´s an example:

There's alot of mixing weap types, if he's looking for a KRISS, that's single shot submachine territory, SKS/Mosins are not the same category (unless you're the kind that scouts in an Atlas)...

Browning made a Hi-Power that did 9mm back in the day, it was a fun little plinker (and yes, 9mm for target is cheap way to go).

I'd talk to your local gun smith before buying the KRISS, if he can't fix it, and you have to send it in every time, that might be a hassle.

I don't want to offend annyone of you guys but I wonder why you have to talk about this in a forum for a computergame?

If you are interestet in such things I'm quite sure, there are enough other places on the Internet.

It's the "off topic" section of the forums, so it appears to be fair game for discussion.

Firearms selection is going to vary with personal tastes, requirements, and what is allowed in one's locale. Personally, pistol caliber carbines mostly lose their appeal to me, since you end up lugging around a rifle sized weapon with way less stopping power. If ammo costs or recoil are what is driving your decision, then look at something in .22LR.

Of course, if one wants a Kris (or whatever) because it's cool... I can certainly understand that. More power to you!

This is the off-topic section of the forums, no one is forcing you to read this. If you simply do not enjoy the subject which we are discussing, then simply do not read. There is nothing wrong about what we are discussing.

Yeah, I just checked it out.
From their website: "American Clients: all firearms orders (including firearms classified as 'C&R') must without exception be accompanied by an approved B.A.T.F. Form 6 import permit in compliance with U.S. federal law. Please note firearms shipments must be sent by air cargo security shipment (rates start at approximately $300.00 USD) because land-based courier companies will not truck firearms across the Canada/U.S. border."

So it looks like at the very least it'd be $619 plus whatever the dealer adds on. Still about half the price they are over here, though...

I've got family who lives about 40 minutes away from the Canadian border, would a Canadian gun store sell to a resident of another country? I'd guess not, but... Worth a shot for one of those lovely Soviet rifles :D

The 18 inch barrel is ridiculous :P

I am looking to get a Kriss, but I would go all the way and pay for an SBR permit to cut that barrel down. I got to hold one at a local shooting range a while ago... it is ergonomic as can be. The only complaint I have is the charging handle is a bit hard to pull back. As in, it requires WAY too much force at the right angle.

The only .45 ACP carbine I like better would be Beretta's Cx4 Storm. That rifle is beautiful. Smooth. Has very little recoil. And it shoots better than some of my full size rifles do. Half inch accuracy at 75 meters, with just iron sights.

I have a Mak-90, which is an awesome AK variant. Here is a clip of me shooting it for the first time.

I also would like to have a Steyr Aug, it has a number of cool features, including a hot swap barrel. http://www.steyrarms...microsites/aug/

Kel-Tec makes the RFB rifle which is pretty unique and I would like to try one. Forward ejecting port and truly 100% ambidextrous design and shoots a round that I like 7.62 NATO. http://www.keltecwea...uns/rifles/rfb/

Finally I want to get my hands on a VEPR 7.62x54r. I originally wanted a Dragunov but those are crazy expensive, so this is a very solid alternative. http://www.atlanticf...roduct1002.aspx

So I did a little more research on the Kriss Super V carbine and it looks like they are going to come out soon with a 9mm and 40 Smith&Wesson models are currently in development and there is some rumors that they will be coming out with a12 gauge shotgun version too. Here is another video where they mention going to 9mm and 40 cal and also including their new pistol and the new kriss K10.

The .45ACP is designed to kill unarmoured targets. When it comes to carbines, It's a civy round as far as I'm concerned.

The Kriss deep V operating mechanism will make excellent, militarily-useful weapons once they chamer it in something like 5.7x28mm, 4.6x30mm, 6x35mm, etc.

My dad's a huge gun nut. He actually makes custom rifles all the time for his buddies at work. Here's his youtube channel if you guys want to check out some of his stuff. He's got a bunch of videos of him and/or his friends firing a nice selection of guns, including his customs, along with some misc. videos like my sister's fire performances and old machinery him and my grandpa work on. Enjoy!

I'm interested in the Kel-Tec Sub-2000, and I look forward to buying one in the future.
