I would beat a stick with an old lady for an unseen Marauder. Probably for most other Unseens as well, but I'd hit the hardest for a Marauder.
Gah, gotta go to sleep, I'm talking nonsense again...

We wanted to give you an update on what’s going on over here at Piranha, how work on MechWarrior Online is going, and what to expect this month from us. We’ve skipped the usual ‘(Month) Is (Something) Warfare Month’ as we want to bring more specific things to your attention. Therefore, here is what to expect for the month ahead:
- Screenshot(s) of the Week(s)
- Fan-lead Q&A
- Weekly Reviews of progress
- Wallpaper(s)
- A Newsletter
- More ‘Mech(s)!
The MechWarrior Online Staff
More Mechs = More Mechtasticness = More Mech
See, it's plural... more Mechs!!!

Look lorddeathstrike, doesnt matter how many times you say something stupid and wrong, it wont make it right!
I personally want quadrupeds like the scorpion and goliath, because they would make great additions to a TEAM based game like theyre planning on doing with Mechwarrior Online

I read this as "You may see screen-shots of the monthly Mech as well its variants"...
Ya see... All these years of chasing release news/status updates has jaded me. I accept the paltry and hope for the best....

I would bet the farm there are more Mechs "done" and in the garage than the monthly release schedule would indicate. Actually I'd bet the farm and my best cow...

The Weekly Bone may not have had a lot of Meat on it, but at least it was something to chew on...

I'd really like to see the Valkyrie or Wolfhound in the light weight class, the Enforcer or Crab in the mediums, the Flashman or Marauder in the heavies, and the venerable Stalker in the assault class. Nothing like the big 'ole "Torpedo of Death" to get the juices flowing. As you can probably guess, I like the AFFS or Mercs associated with 'em.

I'll echo the sentiment. I'm more than overjoyed at the possibility of more information on a Weekly/Monthly basis. It appears that PGI is a very nimble development studio and are making great headway on their project. If the "extra mech" reveal happens to be screenshots of variants, I'll be just as happy.
However, all this comes at a price of time spent on the actual game, so I hope not too many resources are pulled from actual development. A few more months is very Soon™ indeed and they appear to have many, many great plans for their baby.
Cheers.

Also If true...is it safe to assume that variants dont count toward that 12 mech total? Because we already see at least 2 variants of the Catapult.

No, there has been (to my knowledge) no official post about the number of 'mechs available at the start of open beta. This has been conjecture on the part of the community based on the approximate time of launch, the number of available 'mechs currently, and the 1 'mech a month release schedule.
Many have speculated that PGI has more than that finished, and are simply slowly releasing them to the public. Actually implementing a new 'mech requires some fairly heavy lifting. From concept art, to signed off art, to the modellers, the animators, rigging, variants , etc etc it ,presumably, takes a long time.
PGI has stated in the past that they will continue to roll out 'mechs at as quick a pace as they can, and keep the same level of quality. I don't see them as the type of company to just sit on their assets
So once the game launches, with however many 'mechs and their variants, expect to see new 'mechs rolling off the assembly line.
Cheers.

I picture myself in my scorpion patrolling for enemy lance in a battle-torn city, where smoke and fire are daily thing ... sorry dream while writing

I was wondering the same thing, if there is nothing officially said by the dev's, I think many will be amazed
