Already done.

Though with the "anime" mechs I have a hard time considering Battletech "pure". You can call it Battletech all you want, but it's still HEAVILY based on the Super VF-1S shape. Not that I have a problem with that. I know it's not supposed to be a FAST Pack but I still see those things mostly because I've seen every series these things are from... well besides Robotech. Did not watch that regurgitated crap :) (But I liked Macross oddly)

Edit: Not to say that the Phoenix mechs were bad...heavily influenced but original enough and good mostly. Course I see see Storm Troopers in space marines heh.

Like I said though, the new LAM's look nothing like what they are named after...why they even used the names is beyond me.

I actually got into Battletech partially because of Robotech and the Unseen. I understood why they were removed until they could be Reseen, and I had quickly moved on to other mechs and mech designing by that point anyways. I would love to see them for the nostalgia factor, but I'm looking at a Raven as my primary mech at the moment in any case.

And Karyudo-ds, the Macross-adapted first season of Robotech had one major advantage over the original - the opening theme music and instrumentals. Definitely more evocative than the original score (I've watched them both by now, obviously)

Well the reason they look so different is probably because Harmony Gold still sucks, especially with them starting their ShadowTech Robotech spinoff thing I heard about.

I liked Robotech, I liked Macross more, except for Macross 7, that needs to DIAF.

Anyways... I'm still hoping for some greater variety on the medium class (as 2 50 tonners both AC primary kinda bugs me), and heavier mediums (70-75 tons) and middle weight assaults (85-95 tons.

Can only hope.

the way it's looking now is I'll end up customizing a Centurion... or maybe an Awesome. Not sure yet.

Mmmm Battlemaster... I even love the Reseen version of it, the PPC cannon mounted on the arm is nasty. It just looks like a deadly machine. If there was a mech to get me out of my 50-60 ton comfort range... it'd be a Battlemaster.

It is pretty awesome, yeah. :) I could flip a coin between it and the Warhammer; although I'd be more likely go to with a Warhammer.

I could very easily see the Warhammer. Very iconic Mech after all, and good to boot.

yes. Battlemasters and Warhammers for the win. We need to live it up with all these pure IS 'mechs before the clans show up and ruin the party.
I could deal with the reseen archer, I just wanted to go all phantom 'mech on some kurita sap in an unseen archer, but oh well.

I dont think any official word has been given on the appearance of the unseen in MWO ... personally even though I think it might be unlikely that they will be there ... I will be disappointed if they aren't :(

I don't care what beef y'all have with unseen/reseen designs, that thing looks cool!

if you have the imaginative and aesthetic sense of a 5 year old maybe. looks like the design for a power rangers costume.

by that logic, pretty much every Giant Robot outside of Gundam and certain of Macross look exactly the same.
Personally though, I like the design; the torso mounted lasers can do good as support option, and the arm mounted missile launchers allow for a greater firing angle. Also if they mounted weapon cams on the arms, due to the range of motion and the bipedal configuration it would make a great urban combat mech. But that's just the opinion of someone who obsesses over various types of mecha and weaponry options

Art is very much user dependent, I can't stand picasso's for example, but some people love them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I hate how the hunchback looks but people do seem to like it's design, more power to them. I love the Centurion re-design so I'll make that work for me.

That or a Catapult.

Always go Catapult, unless there's a Longbow. Missile Weapons Specialist talking here, I love sending fiery waves of exploding death at people

Let alone the fact stated above me, the mech is made by Steiner during the Fed Com war. That means you'e only going to fight those.

^you say that like it's a bad thing. More 'mechs to fight? Bring on the carnage!

Though, and I know this won't happen, I would like to see the Industrial 'Mechs make a comeback

I'll take what's given. The best mech is the one that works for me, right at that moment.

Well I'm hoping to see the Mad-2R when they add more mechs.. I'm thinking since we seen a Warhammer in the Trailer the chances of seeing the old mechs might happen.(stupid Harmony Gold)
Would be stupid not to see any stingers, wasps, archers, phoenix hawks or riflemen.

Thats got to be the worst looking crusader ever

I still think it will be 16 in the base game at launch, with maybe 4 or 5 you can buy. With 16 you would be able to cover a full lance in each weight class.

Jagermech for the autocannons
Urbie for the cheap mech
Dervish for flexibility
Zeus for additional power
Cyclops for commanders
Spider for the 50 damage charge at full speed.
