Pre-speccing out my Mechs, know of a good site for reference?

I tried Solaris 7, but it doesn't list variants that are on the BTech Wiki. And the BTech Wiki doesn't indicate the timeframes of the variants or give detailed info on where the mounts and what type they are.

The search result is nice in that it shows me variants, but I take it I would have to cross reference that variant else where in order to find out what types of mounts exist in what locations? Or am I not seeing that on this website?

P.S. Aegis, have you looked at any of your MW Game Manuals? They should show Stock configs and mounts perhaps.

I have that, and have been teaching myself how to use it (great app) But I never knew about this "master mech file". I wasn't familiar that this program supported forcing/abiding by a specified set variant (would LOVE it if it did!)

It won't make you stick to any variant, but it can restrict equipment and mech choices by year.
/edit -- I use it to look through a mech's variants and find one with hardpoints (I just look at the equipment tab and it shows where everything is mounted) that match my needs. Then I go about replacing weapons with other weapons of the same hardpoint type, etc.
It's not foolproof but I have found it useful.

Yeah I think PGI is going to have to assign those unused hardpoints arbitrarily -- finding official sources for that info is likely a losing prospect, as I doubt anyone even typed that up for the vast majority of mechs.

Armament; 2 Med Lasers (LA/RA)
4 SRM6 (LA/LT/RA/RT)
5/8 Standard engine
Ferro Fibrous - 9 tons/162 points
Double Heatsink (10)
4 tons SRM6 ammo w/ Case split between LT and RT
Essentially it's a well armored city fighter/bird of prey that swoops in for the kill with its jumpjets, gets a lock and unleashes a ridiculous amount of damage. Can be made off of the DV-6M under current mechlab rules or if there are ever armor/internal structure/heatsink swap limitations, you can make it off of the DV-7D, both available by 3050 TRO.
I can see it pairing up with a Hunchback and performing hit and run attacks while crit seeking with all of those missiles as the Hunchback punches holes for those SRMs to get through. It is heavily armored enough it could be a distraction as well, letting the hunchback get shots into the enemy rear armor... delicious.

It's important to note, you would only ever be able to mount one weapon in that spot.
