The old Jenner art has a top half of an urbanmech torso too.

They just wanted everything to resemble R2D2

Or crawl. Or slither. I never understood the fasination with the trash can on legs, or the Urbane mech as one of our players called it.

It's slow, only good for very short fights, and fugly. Other than that I'm sure it's wonderful.

Hmm...

I believe you stumbled upon irrefutable proof that the Jagermech evolved from the Urbanmech and as such the Urbie is simply the pupal iteration of the Jager!!

Next question that begs to be answered... Does the Jagermech proceed through it's metamorphosis inside it's own exoskeleton or does it gestate in a cocoon? :P

It sheds its skin and becomes a beautiful Rifleman.

I would think it adds the additional weight and equipment by sucking the life out of other mechs, like a vampire or a wife. :)

I think the aritist (Loose) was just trying to provide a realist feel for the 'Mechs. What I mean, is that in the BattleTech universe, a BattleMech is the ultimate lord of the battlefield right?

So it stands to reason that you would want 'Mechs to share common parts for easier repairs.

Im reaching with this one.. but the internal shoulder articulators on the old Jager are the same as a zeus.

Thus.. What do you get from mech **** between a Zeus and an Urbie..

A Jagermech

On a somewhat related note, do you guys pronounce Jagermech with a hard J like Mick Jagger, or with a soft J like in Jagermeister? I pronounce it hard (that's what she said!) but I started playing Battletech when I was a kid and didn't know that Jager was German for hunter, or that they like it soft (Zing!).

The Urbie's evolving! It's going to be a beautiful and powerful Jaegermech!

It's like pokemon for mechs.

I think its the very pitiful little trashcan on legs image it has that makes it fascinating. I think its an ugly little target for my Gauss Rifle, but if those who love it, love away...I guess the Urbie has that same cuteness about it to Mechwarrior fans that the Sherman has to me...its not really a good tank, not scary, not deadly, but its has this cute image. The Battlefield HEroes Sherman..that is how I imagine a Sherman.....Almost like it woulda made a better stuffed animal then a combat machine. Its the same thing with the Urbie I think...
