i hear you there. at this point id pay for new maps, netcode fixes and bug fixes. this game needs optimization before any real content is added but all in all some fresh maps would help stave off this urge to uninstall and move on. i'm tired of the fact a 4,320 dollar laptop built for gaming is only getting 8-12 fps on a game that requires half of what most games i run on it at max settings and keep 40-60 fps on. none of it makes sense. they are more worried about income via goodies vs fixing the game engine and netcode, or releasing new maps to keep this same old crap game mode engaging enough to be playable for the next two to four weeks...if not longer by pgis record.

Laptop is not for gaming.Next.

I expect many people will not be playing after today due to them turning off the premium gravy train - nobody in their right mind will hit that button until this game actually has some content. Someone at PGI is gonna be real surprised when they realize that no, we are not addicted to their game, we just wanted to grind a lot while it was free. Hopefully this game's still here when I decide to come back.

Also, LRM Storm 2: Electric Boogaloo. Almost every match I was in over the weekend was nonstop LRM camping...and they are buffing LRMs. Oh boy.

This.

But I do think there will be a resurrgence of clan, corps, and house guilds once 8 man is back on the 4th. I may start my premium time at that point.

I'll definitely be playing with Kong on scheduled 8-man nights, twice a week or so like I used to. No more crazy grinding (and thus premium activation) until there's at least the new game mode and a few new mechs to work on though. I'm actually planning on saving it until clans/CW since of the announced mechs I only like the look of the Stalker/Highlander and I could buy several of those with what I have saved up.

You want to make a bet on that?
Keeping in mind that if a single founder hits that button, you're wrong?

I'm expecting a bunch of topics to be locked by mods.

I just honestly don't get what half the people who work for PGI do all day.

You have no idea how much time it takes to figure out how to say "We're not adding third person, and here's 9 pages of what we'll be sure to take into account when we add...er...don't add it."

Doubletalk is serious business and hard work.

Maybe you are right that that not many will hit that button, but how does that translate to people not playing? Does the game all of the sudden become less fun if I start earning less cbills and XP? Not at all.

Many people in Kong have only been playing recently due to the button not being in yet, in effect giving us "free" premium time which is wasted if we don't play.

However, with the button, we can start our premium time whenever we wish, many of us will not want to use it until there's more to the game, namely Community Warfare or at least a game mode that isn't capture the red box, as they do not find the game in it's current state engaging enough to keep playing, especially when group v group matchmaking isn't even in.

So, since there will be no reason to continue to play any longer since premium time is on hold, we, and many other founders, simply will not play until there is more game a few months down the road.

I'll probably still play but not nearly as much, and I'm unsure if I will activate my time yet, probably not.

I'm quite satisfied in my current position (that is to say, no position). I do not want the job of moderating the forum (pinning topics, deleting threads, responding to reports etc etc). I don't need forum mod powers to continue to offer my advice and insight to the members of this community.

I expect:

A few changes or some new content that will interest me. Several changes and/or some new content that doesn't interest me. One new bug for every 2 bugs fixed (progress is progress). Patch notes that are not a complete change log, cover most of the changes, but leave out several in order to maintain an air of mystery and a chance for the players to discover them, which will result 100 threads in which people argue over what they THINK has been changed.

Yes, I am being slightly negative, but at least I'm trying to keep positive about the patch, one new bug for every 2 fixes is being positive (its pretty much par for the course in development).

Probably another hour until the game is back up and you are able to patch; i'm not at home so I can't verify

Hang tight :)
