There are many things I wish I see in this game. I would love for to see quadrupeds. And the news of the inner sphere of today (5/12/07) give me hope to use an ax lol
But what I love most is to have an urban combat that allows me to develop a strategy to combat that is not only "find and destroy"
The gamplay videos look great. But we have not seen anything urban. anyone else want to see this kind of combat?
URBAN COMBAT: I hope that soon the dev's show us a video of the gamplay where we see an urban combat

In the absolutely first info they released, they said that they are focusing on urban combat.

Well the point was that all of the actual ingame video footage we've seen is of presumably the same open rough terrain map, as opposed to an actual urban map as they've supposedly said they were designing around.
I prefer the outdoor maps to urban maps anyway so it hasn't bothered me, but rest assured there's going to be urban maps. However, people are overhyping the difference in "strategy" you're going to get.
Deciding to go an extra block down and around an enemy without them noticing you is no different from deciding to take the long way around a cliff face or valley to flank some one. It's just slighty different in that instead of running to the crest of a hill and firing for a nice little hit and run attack, you're shooting down a street or open park-like area before hiding behind a building again.
It's not some completely different game, just a little adaptation.

While I agree to a point. I think that the way that it ends up being put into play could influence that. On one side it could be like fighting surrounded by very, very steep "hills" that just happen to be laid out in a grid like pattern, or the flip side a dynamic environment with multistory buildings that may or not be able to support the weight of that Highlander your playing cat and mouse with.
I also am looking to forward to seeing how the roll of scouts will play out in a denser environment where poking your head up to Id targets might be confounded by the 90 degree angles that streets and intersections play.
Will it be like suddenly fighting in zero g? No. Will it be very similar to fighting in the maps we have seen so far? I can hope not.

I can't wait to see their take on an urban setting. Some of my favorite missons in MW4 are the urban ones. Scouts are going to have some fun with those of us in heavies and assaults but should be fun can't wait to hear the roar of my AC 20

No matter how they do it, there's no way it can be worse than dealing with a mess of buildings in a TT game.

Soon is a relative term. I'm sure if you ask any of the Devs, they'll say Summer 2012's open beta is REALLY soon.
So, I'm sure you'll be getting urban combat soon
From all the videos and screenshots I've seen it appears they are using the same map, which would suggest they are focusing on balancing it or 'mech combat first, and then moving on. Complete guess tho.
I agree. I would love to see urban combat. And the Kintaro, and SRMs in action, and the Metagame, and explosions, and Devs falling to my weapons, and and and and......
It'll all be coming out soon. Developer soon, not rabid fanboi soon
Cheers.
