I don't know if I am putting this in the right forum or if someone has made this suggestion. I wonder if it would be possible to open up the option of having us hyper link our own custom avatars from another website such as Photobucket. To be honest, kinda don't like the non-house avatars and would rather not use a house avatar to avoid being considered affiliating to that house.

But... but... allegiance icons help me figure out who I like..... jokes... I like having peoples allegiance next to their names and I don't see that changing.

I am not saying get rid of allegiance icons, just suggesting allowing for custom avatars.

Yeah the solution seems pretty obvious from where I am sitting as well... Or even have the alliance listed directly below the name in bold and appropriate color ? This would actually make more sense to me on many level, as I am only familiar with clan insignias ( from playing on the sides of the clans since netmech in '94 ) this switch could be implemented easily and inner sphere noobs ( like myself ) could instantly identify who was a friendly alliance and who was not, perhaps more importantly the NAME of the alliances would be much more pronounced! As it stands now, mousing over the alliance icon in neither the main forum area, nor even in people's profiles reveals exactly which alliance a person belongs to!

Please piranha, help us out a bit here

I don't see anything in your link that says why custom avatars are not allowed. Also, for the devs to add 4 alliance and 2 other avatars and say job well done? I beg to differ.

Correct, but the third post on the link topic offers a suggestion as to why custom avatars may not be a hot topic.
