What if they remade the original campaigns and sold them as DLC.
I would like to play MW2 in high def.

A remake of mercs or 31st century would be fun. However you would need a whole studio of resources just to do that, and PGI is already slaving away at bringing us what will be a better experience than the original mw2's.

There isn't going to be DLC.

And MW2 was a single player game with some multiplayer functionality. MWO is a multiplayer game without a single player.

Edited the topic to make it a lot less vague. Try to be somewhat descriptive in your post titles.

Honestly I don't get the parade of PvE requests. The game is not designed for PvE; the entire concept is PvP centric. PvE would be another game, down the line. I'm not opposed to one being made, but really, this isn't it.

The closest we might ever see are NPC support vehicles like VTOLs and even that is entirely speculation.

I'd rather the developers work on the core gameplay, myself.

I like the idea of adding a campaign later on, but look at it from this side.

They would need to make a lot of maps that could have been a good fresh thing in the MP for only 1, maybe 2 plays.
Also, the whole thing would need to be scriped and AI would have to be made from scratch.

There's simply too much to incloude to the game to make something like campaign possible. :(

PvE/CoOp as extra paid content would be a nice dlc later on. But you've got to realize that's a huge undertaking. They'd have to build custom AI that works with ALL the mechs. Throw in any custom game modes and/or assets and... well it's a huge time consuming undertaking.

One day, maybe, if we're lucky, we can get an awesome SP campaign in line with how they originally wanted to do it. I don't expect we'll ever see it though. That's why I hope that they implement realistic objective based, non-symetrical (ie: both sides don't all have the same stuff) game modes that almost mimic how a SP mission would be, only it would be with human players. With the planet conquest stuff already being planned, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for THAT to be the 'campaign'. We'd just have to wait for ground vehicles, heli's, vtol's, naval vessels, turrets & the like to be added in the game first.

It's my pipe dream for MWO.

Single player/ co-op missions could be fun, but the whole reason they're making an online PVP game is because then players=content, and the game essentially lasts forever.

A mission-based game only lasts as long as the campaign, or a couple of replays. PVP is the gift that keeps on giving :)

all i was suggesting was that if they made campaign dlc it would be another way to bring in more money. it is core a pvp game and im sure it will be great but it would be reason for the non walet warriors to spend their money. And even the campaign could be co-op that makes it last longer or they could have some sort of firefight mode where you go in with a lance of mech and fight waves of support vehicles.
