I've got a baby boy (he just turned 1). I named him Grayson, obviously after Colonel Grayson Death Carlyle (to which my partner surprisingly agreed to). It's a bit of a double geek reference as well, as I'm a bit of a Batman fan as well, and he'd be my Robin (as in, Richard Grayson. The profanity filter won't let me use the more commonly used, and short form version of Richard).

Obviously Grayson needs a mech to ride around in, and what's more appropriate than a Marauder?

So I went ahead and got one made for him. In other words, I found someone talented enough to do it justice, and had one custom made.

You might have come across the work of this artisan from other videogame related projects (I believe Kotaku has posted up previous works before). She's made plushies from Plants vs Zombies, and Starcraft. You can find her website here.

That's just incredibly awesome. Now remember to read him Battletech lore at bedtime, and may I suggest an original 3025 Tech Readout for his first proper book when he 's going to learn to read? :P

If I had a son, I'd give him a 75-ton futuristic war machine stuffed toy too!

If he brings that to school, the dads of the other kids will get jealous if they see it. :P

About how much was that commission? Seeing that makes me want to get a Timber Wolf, and I know a few of my friends would want to request a mech of their own.

The final amount was around $200, which isn't cheap. But I've happily paid it because I'm fully assured of her quality of work. I've asked her to make me some Plants vs Zombie plushies some years back.

That cost does include international shipping to Australia though.
