Some history for the random **** passing by looking for a Merc Unit...
In April, 1996, on the Multiplayer Battlech Solaris arenas of AOL, a core group of pilots from The OutKasts of Marik's 15th Atreus Military District rebelled against FWLM rule and set off to start their own unit of guns for hire. Tired of the politics, and the bickering, and the endless failed attempts to enforce a military style doctrine that controlled where and when and with whom you could drop into battle, this core group became -The Fallen-. Pilots from other Houses and other Merc units soon joined the cause as we had all in one way or another fallen from grace, or out of favor with our indoctrinated homes.
Our sigil is the Phoenix. It is a testament to our resolve to rise from the ashes and fight on.
Our motto is simple. We may not be the best, but it takes the best to take us down. This is what we strive for.
We have no ranks. No predetermined lance designations. We're just as likely to call a target designation 'Bravo' as we are 'Beeyoch' depending on whomever is scouting on the drop. For the most part we act as a whole, and as a founding father of -The Fallen- it's my job to keep it that way.
Our code is simple. Follow the TOS and talk all the smack you want. Threaten or accost a unit member and you'll learn first hand why some of the old timers still call me 'Beast'. It doesn't matter what or who you do in the real world - when it comes time to drop into battle work together and focus as a unit.
We don't recruit - we drop. Want to become part of the crew? Drop with us. Time will tell the rest.
That's about it.
So if any of you certifiable freaks, outkasts, house rejects, pyschotics, and otherwise general malcontents that most would hate to run into in a dark alley are still breathing or maybe just lurking about and wanting to join a Merc unit after having fallen from the graces of wherever the hell you came from... or if you're just interested in joining a seasoned group that's casual and competitive without a dog tag choking the individuality out of you... drop us a line.
