I'm wanting to read some of the old Battletech novels but don't have the time to read all 100+ of them. Can someone give me a good starting point and a list of key books I should pick up. I have read a couple but not many. You can also include any of the old Mechwarrior books in with the list.

Thanks in advance.

Try Ideal war, it is interesting to say the least, though a bit gruesome.

What do you prefer?

Want to know about clans, old/new innersphere, specific houses, characters, hero mechs (yen lo wang, etc...)?

Id read

Warrior: En Guard
Warrior: Riposte
Warrior: Coupe

One of the better trilogies in battletech. Stackpole was one of my preferred writers.
