Joystick, there's nothing like piloting huge engine of destruction with a dirt-cheap-but-still-awesome HOTAS. anything that doesn't cover I have a keyboard for.

Nothing compares to a joystick in terms of immersion, for certain games, and this is a big one.
Unfortunately, joystick support these days seems tacked on in many games, while mouse support is superior only due to developer support.

THE INPUT SPEED MUST BE COMPARABLE!

I hope PGI take it seriously, thx for the poll.

I see no stinking keyboard and mouse in that MECH cockpit! (don't get any ideas devs) ;)

Also I see no bathroom in the cockpit which makes long missions difficult, they never mention these things in TROs or the fiction,

Joystick of course, I want to feel like I'm actually in the cockpit piloting my mech ;) And if anybody is curious, the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is relatively cheap for a stick with a throttle on it (Amazon=$30) and at least in my experience, it's really durable too.

Mouse/Keyboard. I do have a joystick but don't feel they are very accurate for this type of game... but I will give it a shot.

Tossing around the idea of getting a throttle... since I hated controlling my speed with the keyboard in other games.

I'll be sporting my years old Logitech extreme3D pro stick. I really like having a paddle toggle for my throttle. And though my stick twists, I disable that and actually drive left/right with two of the stick buttons.

Fighting with a mouse loses the imersion factor for me. (All I saw was mice [mouses?] in the internal demo shots, makes me a little worried).

Going to try out a mouse and keyboard, but would love to invest in a joystick, have a nice left handed USB keypad type thing too that could be workable. Will just see what works.

Interesting results, I will probably use both M&K and a joystick since I used a joystick in mechwarrior 4 but I do have trouble aiming quickly with it. My joystick is a SideWinder joystick which was made around the year 2000.

Keyboard and mouse until I can get a decent joystick - but I think mice are underrated as well.

There are tons of control threads in the Hardware forum. Moving this one over there.

I still have my old joystick from when I was playing MW4, actually, and it still works. I plan to dust it off and give the old thing a whirl when it comes to release...or open beta if I get the chance to hop in.

I was going to use my trusty old Saitek Cyborg Evo.

Until I found a Thrustmaster Cougar F16 H.O.T.A.S. system going cheap. :-D Gonna be using the stick for the torso, and weapons fire, the throttle for speed and weapons select and the throttle mounted micro joystick for the arms, its gonna be sweet! (If I can figure out how to map the commands to it LOL)

Just started bidding on some flight control pedals. So I will use those to rotate my mech's upper body. But for everything else mouse/keyboard.

Did anyone notice in the friends and family pictures and video everyone has a mouse and keyboard? I played every mech warrior game up to MWLL with a joystick. I don't think I could go back to joystick you don't seem to have the same control.. I will probably try a joystick it out though for the immersion.
