When the clan invasion comes around and if we are given the option will you stay among the Inner Sphere factions or will you join the murading zealots we call the clans.

I'll be remaining with the Inner Sphere. I'm a Merc, always have been, always will be. Love us or hate us, everyone needs a hired gun sooner or later.

And with the Clans coming, I'm thinking that will be sooner... a LOT sooner. :)

If the clan invasion comes around, I think I'll stay Inner Sphere, if only 'cause everyone else will be rushing to the clans. The only reason I'd go clan would be for my Blood Asp, but thats about it. Hopefully we'll be able to salvage clan tech if we're IS.

There are some clan Mechs I might want. But I'll jump through hoops to get them instead of joining the clans.

The Clan lifestyle is one I find very unappealing. A rigid, segregated, caste based society with a childish vision of war. I would much rather be a part of FWL or FLL, where democracy and capitalism still reign supreme. Not that I don't respect the clans. I like Wolf, Hell Horses, and Star Adder. But if I ever see a Jade Falcon, Smoke Jaguar, or Steel Viper, I aim for the head.

Also, Elementals are gross.

IS for sure. I'll just strip the clan weapons I need from their smoldering corpses.

It depends on the quality of play and the mechanics of playing as a Clan character.

Hopefully the devs will balance the technology difference by forcing zellbrigen. Additionally, I hope they balance the resources rewarded at the end of a fight involving the Clans with how the players themselves choose to equip themselves. Traditionally the Clans use a bidding process to see who can win a fight with the least amount of resources committed...

Basically, the game will become extremely unfun if everybody shows up in Timber Wolves and Dire Wolves to fight Cicadas and Centurions.

I also plan on staying with my House. It can be fun to be the underdog on occasion.

It would seem, thus far, that many of us will, indeed, be remaining Inner Sphere. As expressed in an earlier post, I started BattleTech tabletop in 1985 as a mercenary, I've built this unit from that time until this, I despised the Clans when they first came out, and I despise them twice as much, now. You tubies might have better technology, but those of you will transfer there will NOT prove to be worthy of the Clans, as described, so you will be dealt with. Good luck, podbirths.

I'd go ComStar, but never Clan. The Clans are just too ideologically messy (a problem that ComStar shares, but fixes after Tukkayid).

It depends on the cultures we get to experience. I really want trails of position :), so if that's something we are allotted by choosing clan then i'm all in.

Trial of position...... the Clans are so wasteful. How many battlemechs are destroyed just to qualify a single warrior?

I suppose in some twisted way it sort of makes sense in a culture that can theoretically bid the fate of a planet down to a duel between two warriors, but in a war of attrition with the Inner Sphere that's a losing approach.
