Hi, why do submarine mechs go full speed and do full damage shooting out being completely submerged in water?

I've asked this question twice on ask the devs, and went unanswered twice in favor of the devs fav booze.

Maybe someone can fill me in with the details here.

So I can retrofit submarine upgrade on my atlas

Well, 'mechs go full speed in water because they haven't implemented water slowing you down yet. It is a planned feature, though.

Also, weapons fired through water don't deal full damage. They deal reduced damage based on how much water they go through.

I could be wrong but has it been said someone that weapons fired OUT of water do less damage as well? it sure doesn't seem like it's reduced.

It's been a long time since they changed water to not completely block damage, and I hope you'll excuse me if I'm too lazy to dig it all up again. I think it works both ways, but it's possible it doesn't. Bug report it or something if you think it isn't working right.

In any case, once water slowdown happens, it'll not be that big of a deal either way, because the only 'mechs that can shoot out of water like that are things like commandos, and a slowed commando is a dead commando.
