What that tells ME is that this is the first issue that was important enough to the OP to comment on.
I would advise against such a cavalier attitude towards new players and puggers, they are the life blood of the game.

No sod him, it is still beta and If he wants to leave before launch so be it.
He didn't give any constructive comment just bye bye, so what do you want me to do? beg him to stay? Nah.
Just scream to me a streakcat user who played for a while without understanding the strategic options ecm brings to a mechwarrior game, this is not some cod shooter.

What that tells me is he's only played five matches and completely incapable of an informed opinion on the mechanics of the game.

Yep I agree with you there.

Let's say you are 100% correct.
Let us then assume he represents 15% of future new players. How much lost revenue would that translate to? Would it put the future of the game in jeopardy?
If so, then it SHOULD be taken as a sign of something wrong.

Ohh look a retarded kid who thinks that just cause you dont like ECM means you cant aim. How surprising.
And derping forward into a massive brawl isnt tactics

You assume they're spending money to begin with and that 15% percent of new players are incapable of basic tactics which would in turn mean they wouldn't have stayed anyhow.

Lets say he represents 0.1% of players, making his post exactly what it is - irrelevant.
Can't make up figures out of thin air to support your arguments.
You and I can play the what if game all day.

It even does it as an area effect.
Additionally, it negates Active Probe, which is a useless piece of junk compared to ECM. Nothing counters the ECM 200 meter detection range, not even Active Probe, which is made useless in comparison.
For 1.5 tons. Anyone with a brain can see that this is out of whack. ECM-equippable mechs are the new flavor of the month, and non-ECM Assaults (Anything not the DC) are second rate.
All over a tiny, 1.5 ton piece of equipment. This is unbalanced. Something that weighs a heatsink and a half should not be something so important that a team that is deficient in them is at a huge disadvantage.
Battlemechs do not rely on electronic measures to target mechs. LOS Mech sensors are Vislight, Infrared, Electromagnetic. There is no reason that LRMs should not be able to use Vislight to target an ECM mech.
The way that ECM is set up now is extremely over what it is designed for initially. It could probably use a boost over canon, but this is more than a boost. It's insanity.

If you can aim then what are you whining about?
The only reason you'd whine is because of what ECM does - it just made lock on missiles that much more difficult. Easy mode ain't so easy anymore.
But of course you never played a LRM or streakcat amirite?

Actually I have one of both, but I use my Yen Lo as much as I use both of those combined
But what does it matter what I play? You used tactics with LRMs before, its not fun having a persons preferred play style completely destroyed by a single **** ant easy to acquire item
