Not for some time. The start year is 3049, a bit before the Clans first invade the Inner Sphere proper.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Mechwarrior Online is set in the time of 3049 , right before the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere. The 2 'mechs you inquired about are both Clan technology, so it will be some time before you see either of them.

The developers have stated that the game will be following a 1:1 timeline, meaning, for each day that passes in real life, a day will pass in the Inner Sphere.
It is unknown if they plan on accelerating this timeline ay any period.

The game is currently slated for the open beta to be released sometime "Summer 2012"

Used a former post as a basis Mason, and didn't edit the bottom line. Went to Quote you, then edited you, fixed your post back to what you wanted, you edited it, hit EDIT instead of quote again.....

um also, i THINK i saw a masakari (warhawk) on here somewhere. the masakari would be my favorite mech in terms of design, and im askin if what i saw was true and if so, when it will be availible. is there a list of the mechs that will be availible? what about the madcat? im pretty sure the madcat will be one of the first but im asking just to be sure. what about the owens?

I dont think the time ratio should be 1:1..maybe bump it up to 1:2 or 1:3...na i would be happy with 1:2

Hi Zombie,

Currently there will be no Clan 'Mechs in the game, but once the Clan Invasion hits then we'll see all those that you're talking about. However, 'Mechs like the Owens, Sunder, and a few others don't appear until much later on, since they are reverse-engineered 'Mechs based off Clan 'Mechs. I humbly direct you to www.sarna.net, where you can look up each 'Mech individually (it's basically Wiki for BattleTech).
