I love the heavies, and the mediums. It really depends on what they give us for mechs.

I'm going to play mostly medium. All my favorite mechs are there. But if it remains in the state it is now, I'll probably jump into a heavy or a light, depending on the last heavy mech we're going to see, because neither Centurion, nor Hunchback are true mediums and Cicada is just oversized light.

I love firepower, but against humans mobility is a must. So I would go for a Heavy.

Well i love the vulture and his role as Scavenger in the battle field so mostly a medium to heavy, but since there is no clan tech i'll give the Catapult a try or just stick to a raven/Cicada and play the role to scout mark the enemies for my lance, wich i always found almost useless in previous mech games

I'll be running a Cicada. 3F or 3M version depending on what's available. Hit and run + 140kph + low profile + customized + ??? = Profit?

86K Heavies or 109K+ Mediums

Lights have speed, but they just don't have the armor to survive. Some Heavies have 3-4x the armor a Light has. You're gonna take damage in this game so a Medium/Heavy is enough mobility and armor in tandem with raw weapons damage that's right up my alley.

I really see it more in terms of what role I'll play. Like Scout, Fire Support, Brawler, etc. I'm going to find the best Mech for whatever role I'm filling regardless of some arbitrary weight class cutoff.

I have always enjoyed the mix of firepower and speed you can find on a medium mech. That being said, if they gives a heavy brawler with good mobility I may change my answer.

Going by what Mechs have been released so far I going Medium. I do like the Commando, and the K2 Catapult.

I'm a medium mech person. I personally enjoy the speed that most mediums can bring to the table, along with the slightly heavier weapons than most lighter mechs. Mediums allow for a good adaptability in combat situations. You lost a scout, you can send out a fast medium from your lance (if you wanted to). Need harassment, a medium with LRMs can also support your forward lances, and have the speed to evade counter attacks. You get the idea.

I'm pleasantly surprised that so many values the tactics required to survive with a light or medium mech.
I expected that about a third of all the votes would be for assaults alone.

I plan on playing mainly Medium 'Mechs. Being that you can get a nice mix of speed and firepower out of most situations sounds good.

I do like the faster 65-70 ton 'Mechs though. When I'm able to get Endo Steel and Ferro-Fiberous armor (still use a cheap standard engine) and then slap some Jump Jets on that puppy...I'll be in BUSINESS!! If I can add TSM to that! Oh it's going to be glorious!!

I... Think I'm going to start with a Centurion. I usually go with a nice leisurely Catapult C1, but this time around I think I want to grab a nice all purpose Command Mech.

I going to go Wizard, but I might multi into Cleric for the special abilities. But I can't wait for the Elf invasion, especially if they make the Rainbow Archer a playable class, soooo OP because they can ride Griffins.
