I like the following -

Stalker : I like that this mech has 2 LRM 10's for longer range as well as the 2 large and 3 medium lasers that go nicely with the pair of SRM-6. Add some double heatsinks and a pilot that can manage heat for a deadly combination.

King Crab: Twin AC/20's you say? me likey.

Highlander: Not overly thrilled with its armament but death from above in an assault is AWESOME.

Mauler: With quad AC/2, two LRM-15's and a two large lasers, this chassis probably has the best range out of all the stock assaults, which sounds like alot of fun to me. It has energy, ballistic, and kinetic hardpoints which open up a wide array of customization.

Had to vote for the Stalker, though I've long been a big fan of the Zeus, Thug, and Highlander as well. The Marauder II looks pretty nice, though it's rare as hell outside Wolf's Dragoons, and I think the Victor would be a nice addition to the assaults we already have in-game if we get the Orion as a third heavy; if we get a Grasshopper or Guillotine instead, I'd prefer the Stalker.

The stalker really is a beast of a mech and the only reason that I can see people disliking it is because of the bizzare synergy of it's name, design and Sales slogan "It's not fast. It's not the cutting edge. It just keeps comming."

I included the marauder ii because apparently in the 3040's, the dragoons wound up releasing the rights to it so that it could be sold on the general market, unlike the imp, the annihilator or the katana.

I love the Victor, and am looking forward to see what a redesigned Stalker will look like, but I vote Charger. It would be a....challenge to win using this.

Stalker! Definitely!

The Annihilator would be my first choice, but it isn't on the list...

Hard choice really...Zeus, Victor, Stalker, Highlander are all favorites of mine. Picked Highlander in the end, though wouldn't be disappointed with any of the four.

Hatamoto Chi would be the most useful IMO, so many cool variants.

I personally can't stand the Highlander, just never liked the way it looked or the Highlander Merc Regiment either for that matter...which is odd, because I like Scotch...but whatever.

Actually, it was Steiner which upgraded the Zeus and gave the Banshee a workable configuration (as well as most of its subsequent upgrades). They are both pretty iconic Lyran 'Mechs.

In addition, Atlas is not iconic to Lyrans any more than to the other Houses. Zeus is pretty much the Lyran assault 'mech.

If they want to increase the mech play variety the most they should include the Victor. A 4/6/4 with an AC-20 I feel would be more useful than the slower and much more rare Highlander.

If you want to include a jumping mech with an AC-10 they should add the Enforcer which needs to be done anyway.

Marauder IIC. I like the hatamoto-chi, but, the Marauder IIC has a place in my heart.

IIC implies Clan, so that's a no-no.

I vote for the Highlander. We need a jumping assault, and the Highlander is almost as iconic as the Atlas and Warhammer.

Cyclops plz... Commanders need a strong command unit... albeit the 10 tons of armor sucks compared to the nineteen tons of armor an Atlas has ;)

If I meant IIC I would have said IIC. The marauder II is an innerspere designed and built machine wholly devoid of any clan tech, and weighs an impressive 100 tons.

Record Sheets: 3055/3058 for the wardog...its not in the timeline yet >.> <.<

edit: oh and KingCrab baby...i loves me some AC20s(though i'd prolly drop them for a guass rifle and AC-10) or this one
KGC-010 - This version of the King Crab was created by the Star League to be a command 'Mech. Instead of the autocannons, it mounts paired PPCs and LB-X Autocannon/10s. BV (2.0) = 2,181
