How are you planning to articulate the reverse knee setup with your legs?

Now we're getting somewhere. Cockpit area has its foam completely cut out and is currently held on by scotch tape. I started doing some battle damage as well to break up the large panels. I'm thinking that I'll paint this mech in Ghost Bear Tau Galaxy colors

I'm going to use these bent hanger clippings to make hand holds for the pilot to get in and out of the cockpit

My head will be in the center of the torso, just below cockpit level. I have that small windows screen in the front to see out of, the two vent ports on each side, and I'm going to make several small openings around the rest of the costume to see to the sides. Plus the bottom will be clear so I can see straight down.

I'll still need a couple handlers to make sure I'm not going to run into anything with my numerous blind spots though. I thought about hooking cameras up to the outside but decided that jumping into that when I have no idea what I'm doing would be a bad idea.

Very impressive! Can't wait to see the end result!

I've tossed around the idea of constructing PVC battle armor for Airsoft that resembles a Gargoyle. (Due to it's similarity to human anatomy.) Even drew up the plans for mounting an AEG under the wrist, with the trigger mechanism in the hand.
...Only issue is how heavy all that PVC would be.

Yeah you wouldn't want to be trudging around in that for very long. You could always make it out of anti-fatigue matting since it's thick enough to shrug off any hit an airsoft round would make, flexible enough to move around in, and light enough that it wouldn't fatigue you.

also: Weathering!

After a period of stress having to do with job prospects I've finally started work again, finished the weapons bits as well as most of the legs.

Made a new leg cover more in line with MWO's Warhawk. I wasn't looking forward to making another round one so I decided to redo the leg covers. Suggestions?

Well here it is, just a little taste of what's to come. Yeah I know Tau didn't participate in the invasion of Thule, but it didn't work with the Mechwarrior 4 opening any other way so I fudged it a bit. Looks like I'll be at Gencon all 4 days (5 days actually since I'll be there helping Northstar Games) So plenty of time to see this in person for anyone planning on attending. I'm starting to wonder if the Tesla pods guys would be interested in having this set up near them to draw crowds, not sure how much time I'll be able to spend inside the costume, most certainly not all 4 days.

Now we're chugging along. I've spent the day trying to figure out how i'm going to get my torso movement how I want it. I'm an artist first and foremost so of course I decided to build the thing first and figure out how it was going to work later. Going to try and have a cylinder around my torso to keep it in place and give it an axis to spin on. The other problem is that because of the height, my upper torso is connected to the costume's lower torso. Which means that in order to torso twist i'll have to able to move my arms while keep my torso straight. It's gonna be fun.....

Also, I have LEDs!

Looking great and coming along nicely.

As for mounting the torso and worrying about its articulation... i'd worry first about the securely mounting part. Even with limited torso twist this thing is going to be very impressive.

I was was extremely busy helping out North Star Games this year so only got to bring the costume out on Saturday for the contest and some photos after but what an amazing reaction I got from it.

This is how we had to transport "The Beast"
