Is the temporary cash only format of the DOTA games a good compromise for MWO?

Is it okay to have new mechs be "cash only" for a few weeks and then be bought with in game money?

No idea what you're talking. Dont hesitate to ask money but dont get greedy.

For the record, League of Legends works nothing like that.

You have a free rotation of heroes every week. All heroes can be bought with earned in-game points, or bought riot points. They unlock permanently.

Dota 2 will not work like that at all, heroes will all be playable.
