Go ahead and name it if you like,
I'm calling mine the Alphastalker because of its 92point alphastrike that can be fired point blank...oh and my name... lol
So terrible naming aside. I give you the most powerful mech I've ever piloted.

Stalker 5M
No FF
No ES
DHS
STD 310 Engine
19 DHS
1ML(core laser) & 4 SL or for slightly better heat 5 SL
5 SRM6
5 tons of ammo
AMS 1 ton of ammo.
.5 tons of extra armor.

Its very very evil.

As for the 4N bit, I think I'm gonna get that one next, try some ppcs and a few MLs and maybe some LRM 10s or higher if I can manange the weight of it with a xl engine... I really like alot of DHS so it might not work.

I'm actually having fun with a very illogical config.

5S
2 small laser
4 ER PPC
AMS
XL 225
30 Single heat sinks
432 armor

PPC's grouped into 2 different groups, one group for the arm mounted ones, one for torso mounted ones. third group for SLaz group fired, and then group 4 is all four PPC's group fired... for when you got the perfect shot and 0 heat built up.

Not doing too bad with this config, I try to stay at range and support my front line troops by chain firing the PPC's. Not too quickly either, or you will overheat quickly. The 2 smalls are nice for close fire damage without frying yourself.

For when you got the perfect shot lined up on that Catapult launching LRMS at your team mates you can fire all four PPC's and tear a limb right off or take the CT from full green to yellow on the internals. Very fun. It's also funny to see a Jenner run at you head on and then see him explode after 1 volley of ER PPC goodness.

It's very hard to manage heat though.... and you got to keep your eye on it. I usually run an Awesome (2 ER PPC 2 ER L-Laser, SRM6) so I know how to control it a bit.

I tried SRM's on her, but I don't like the spread. I love the Awesomes Twin Tubes so its more focused fire.

For reference the leftside missile hardpoints seem extremely accurate with srm6s. In case you want to build something with SRMS and LRMs on the other side.

What I had previously was Stalker - STK-5M

17DHS
x1 ER LG laser - To plink with from across the map
x4 Medium lasers
x5 SRM6 + Artemis (6 tons of ammo)

What I ended up doing was
20DHS
300 STD Engine
x5 med lasers
x4 SRM6+ Artemis

A lot better heat management, and a LOT better damage simply because I can continuously use all of my weapons rather than just a few.

I've been using a 5S. It's my first traditional assault mech, so my builds/playstyle aren't very well honed.

2 PPC
4 Mlas
4 SRM 6 (4 tons)
2 AMS (1 ton)
STD 250
18 DHS

Hot as all hell, but manageable as long as you don't misfire a weapon group when you don't want to. 100 Alpha (40 direct, 60 missile, 80 burst for twisting). I usually use PPCs as sniping before brawls, and as crit seekers after SRMs strip armor. I don't really use the Mlas much given how overbearingly hot they are, but they fill the energy gap in the 90m range, make decent fallback after SRMs are down, and of course have their place in alpha strikes.

My first try at an assault mech, and the stalker:

Stalker 5-S
4 Mlas
4 SRM^6's
Standard 295 engine
59 kph
2 AMS i ton of ammo
5 tons of SRM ammo

I admit I am drunk while posting this, but it had been good to me so far, with a 1.25 heat efficiency, I can fire both laser and srm's a couple of times before shutting down. I even cored an Atlas once. Just think of yourself as a more armored, slower Catapult C4 boasting more firepower and have fun

I find the lack of LRMs in builds disturbing, given this mech can handle them much better than catapult.

Blame ECM for the lack of LRM missile builds

I was able to fit 2 LRM 10's and 2 LRM 15's, but I had to lower my armor a bit.

Along the lines of

X2 LRM20 +Artemis
x2 SRM6+ Artemis
x4 Med lasers
Tag in the CT

Same role as the original Stalker, melt thy enemy from any range. Takes the same finesse as the trial 3F, but much lighter on the heat.

STK-5M [STD 260, DHS]

x2 LRM 10(Chain-fire, 2t ammo)
L.Las
x4 M.Las
x2 SRM-6(2t ammo)

The BEST LRM boat!!!
Chassis Name: Stalker
Model Name: STK-5M
1.LRM boat + self-defense = Artemis LRM 15 x4 (9 ammo) + 4 Med Lasers + AMS + full armor
http://clip2net.com/...m69792/38762109
It's my choise )

2. Ultimate LRM boat = Artemis LRM 15 x5 (10 ammo) + full armor
a great choice for team play (need ECM cover and back protection)

STK-3F

310-rated standard engine combined with a (total of, including engine mounted) 18 DHS, as well as maxed armour and endo-steel internals.

2x PPC (both mounted in the same arm for that double-range-AC/20 punch.)
4x medium lasers
4x SSRM2's. with 3 tonnes of ammo. (more than needed but tonnage to spare and not enough critslots for the 19th DHS)
AMS with 1 tonne of ammo.

Lights are remarkably explodery when chewing on 20-damage volleys from homing missiles. Which is much needed without laser arms or extreme torso twists in order to deal with light mechs or brawlers. It's a bit hot, but if you get a feel for it it's marvellous. And don't be afraid to pummel them with SSRMs - ammo a plenty.

My STK-5M build is my favorite so far..

16 Double Heatsinks, XL300 engine, Artemis FCS

4 Medium Lasers
2 LRM 20's
3 SSRM2's
TAG Laser

Usually do ~700-1000 damage in games with it. Stick next to a few D-DC's for ECM support against enemy lights. They get too close, the D-DC's switch to counter, you light it up with streaks.

(I know, I know, I'm doing it wrong by not boating, but this thing pulls in at least 600 damage a match, averages about 900, and has gone as high as 1400.)

STK-5S

Structure: Standard
Armor: Standard
Heatsinks: 14 Double Heatsinks (10 in engine, 2 in LT, 2 in RT)
Engine: XL 255
----------Weapons-------------
2x Large Laser (RA, LA)
2x LRM 20+Artemis (RA, LA)
2x SSRM 2 (RT, LT)
2x AMS (RT, LT)
-------------Ammo--------------
6x LRM 20+Artemis Ammo (RL, RL, LL, LL, RA, LA)
1x SSRM Ammo (RA)
2x AMS Ammo (RT, LA)

This build can deliver good damage across all ranges, which makes up for its lackluster speed of 48 kph. At match start, hang back a bit, and let friendlies spot targets. The dual LRM 20s will pull their weight here, softening targets for your teammates to bring down; and with six tons of ammo you can shoot at everything that moves. Artemis will let the LRMs hit all but the fastest of scouts provided terrain doesn't get in the way.

Once the two teams are starting to brawl, you can start to get a little bit closer, positioning yourself to take potshots at targets of opportunity with your two large lasers, all the while continuing to rain down hellfire with your LRM 20s.

When the two forces start to really intertwine, move in to about 250 meters. Here, all your weapons can be brought to bear. SSRMs and large lasers are to be fired at the most direct threats, while you continue to aid friendlies with LRM fire.

Glad to see someone else is getting good results out of a balanced build. :)
