I do 3D rendering and video encoding, so I use mostly AMD. Intel/nvidia are better for games because the industry optimizes for them. Also my system runs boiling lava hot because AMD thinks polar ice caps are lame. Both brands are good for different uses.

You're completely forgetting NVIDIA Quadro, NVIDIA Tesla, and AMD FirePro. Those are series of video cards specifically designed for workstation/CAD/rendering graphics and general processing. While AMD Radeon HD gaming cards are generally better at these sort of things than NVIDIA GeForce gaming cards, none of those two are seriously geared towards that like Quadro, Tesla, and FirePro.

While both brands have their strengths and weaknesses, please remember that both brands also have workhorses specificaly for rendering and other workstation/professional functions. And those cards are a completely different ballpark than gaming cards. But the surprising part is that the hardware isn't all that different: the differences are based in software (drivers, etc.). How the cards are run, what they're tweaked for doing, and the differences in error correction. Gaming card drivers are all out speed while sacrificing precision since game graphics need to be reaonable not value perfect. Workstation card drivers need to have perfect calculations and sacrifice all out performance for that.

peopel can keep there 1k i7's ill just smile knowing i have about the same performance for a fraction of the price. altho i cn upgrade those cpu's when i see a good deal and get a 24 core system and get a higher clock speed as well not that i need it ^^

I used to use Tyan and SuperMicro boards back in the 90s as they were often rock-solid.

Unfortunately these boards haven't kept up with current tech as well as ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, and others. I use mostly ASUS these days.
