Noticed another graphical bug introduced by this patch. After getting shut down during a fight, when it powered back up, the cockpit was about 3x as dark.

Do not like this patch.

stop playing at "1080p"?

btw, the P stands for Progressive Scan and I stands for Interlaced. Computers always use P, so you're "playing" at a resolution of 1920x1080, and this has a HUGE effect on graphical performance compared to playing at 640 or 720 or 800 or 1024 or 1280 or 1600, etc etc.

Your computer is constantly "rendering" via calculations and math, it's not a movie screen where the visuals are canned and just redrawn by 1's and 0's.

At only a 2gb RAM machine, with 4gb being the supposed minimum, bump your resolution down to something reasonable.

Also check to make sure that V-sync is disabled and your visual settings are set to low. All my visual settings get reset every patch, leading to horrors of memory leaks and stepping "outside ram" with MWO.

As lampshade said, I have 2GB video ram. The machine has 16GB normal RAM. The drivers are the nVidia ones released 3 days ago. I said 1080p because frankly it's shorter to type than 1920x1080 and is the established name for that resolution, even if progressive vs interlaced isn't really all that applicable in the computing world.

EVERYTHING worked fine yesterday, and the day before and the day before that, back to closed beta. Something in this patch REALLY screwed things up. I previously could run at 1920x1080, high settings at a constant > 30fps. Now, dropping the setting down to lowest, lowering my resolution to 1600x900, etc... and I get perhaps 30fps, which then spikes down to 12 or worse when I do things like.... turn.

The most perplexing thing is the lag like performance, where mechs rubberband or skip, even though I am running a <30ms ping.

This one is certainly a case of "It's not me, it's you". You being PGI.

I would and have. There's a major difference, though. I don't be a **** about it.

This thread has been remarkably civil and level headed, especially considering the game has been made unplayable for many participating in the conversation. Frankly, the only one being a **** here is you.

The patch notes said there would be improvements but I think it is much worse. I'm having to lead mechs with lasers even more than before the patch and my ping hovers from 30-40. Even slow moving mechs often require me to shoot the air in front of them in order to score a hit.

Did this get worse for anyone else?

I get the 4fps every game, fresh from start now...

AMD 8-Core 12GB ram 3.2ghz
AMD Radeon HD 6800 series card with 2.768GB ram

I wouldn't think I'd have an FPS issue ... now the game uses all 8 cores to about 30% which I find interesting...

I run at 1920X1080p 60hz

Lower resolutions still has the FPS bug...

I have directx 11 installed ... downgrade to 9?

You have no EU servers??? It would seem after tonight's patch light's with a low ping have "no problems" yet me and friends have "major" trouble hitting these light mechs whereas before it was easy to judge and aim (UK, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden).
It's starting to feel like this will be a game made by americans for americans and the rest of can go take a walk. I have quite a few founder friends that are more than pissed off with this.

I see light mechs running around on fairly open/even ground yet they rubberband all the time??? Is this your fix? Because if it is then prepare for a lot of requests for money back from founders NOT based in the usa.

the lagshield is still just as bad as it was, for everybody.

at least I didnt get hit more in my cicada unless they had streaks, still had to aim well in front to do damage.

No - not played enough to make it a final statement but if anything it has improved for me.

Has anybody suffered serious drops in their fps after the patch? Whatever PGI did in the Stalker patch actually improved my average fps by 8-9. Now it has dropped by 12-13.

WTF is going on here?

First game in noticed a big framerate drop, I'm maxing out at about 17fps, averaging 13fps. Previously framerate was about 25-30fps. Upon checking the graphics options I notice that I'm also stuck at DX9 - the option is greyed out so I can't select DX11. Was it always like that?

Anyway system specs are HD 5770 (lower end card), i5 2500k, 8GB, Win7 64bit. Not really sure if that provides any help.

Dx9 was always the only option, yes. DX11 is "coming soon".

I experienced a FPS drop too, about the same amount. GeForce 560M in my case. The top stickied post is where we are discussing it, and where your post will ultimately be moved.

I am not sure what you changed, but Prior to todays patch I was getting a consistent 22-28 fps in almost every game. Every now again again I would get 5-8 fps bug but that is a separate issue.

After the patch I am now getting 21 fps at _BEST_ and a consistent 10-15 fps if I move or shoot.

There have been no changes between yesterday and today on my system, the only variable appears to be the latest patch. (Dxdiag submitted)

I feel the game has improved with this patch. Getting about 45 FPS in full screen mode
at 1440x900 medium settings. Windowed mode gets considerably lower FPS.

2 Xeon E2450
16 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD5700

Yes this is a Power Mac.

It´s getting tiring. Frames goes from 45 to 20. I got FX-4100//HD6870//8GB DDR3 1333. Only game that does this. Other games work fine. Lastest drivers.

I dont know what to do anymore.

The latest patch has decreased the FPS for me drastically in-game. Previously I had around 35-45fps with the "High" graphic settings at 1920x1080. Currently I have a MAXIMUM of 25fps, mostly hovering around 15-20fps.

Specs:
AMD 6-core processor @ 3.3GHz
16GB DDR3 Memory
nVidia GeForce 660 Ti w/ 2GB memory

I've tried dropping the resolution to 1440x900 and changing to medium settings, but the maximum still hovers around 30fps so this definitely seems like an added bug.

Edit: Also, from taking a look at the forums, I'm wondering if maybe the fps hits are being seen mostly by users who have higher end graphics cards. Just a thought?

Thanks for continuing to work on these issues.
