I hate loosing, but i can accept it, if someone is better or has, and is willing to spend more money to buy extras than i do, even if it sukks.
But what i really hate is loosing a game because of these freeborn users of hacks!
What is you Devs solution to this problem?
I don´t want the fun for all who waited that long for a new BTGame to be blown up, because game got infected with hackers!!!

They have told us they have plans to help prevent this, but of course they will not tell us those plans... because that would sort of defeat the whole point to it.

I hate losing as well, but sometimes, you just do. I have played games where I have been accused of hacking. ME! I can spell the word and that is about it. The accusal just told me that the accuser was a poor pilot and an even worse sportsman.

When you lose, go with the idea first that you stink as a pilot until you can CONFIRM that the opponent is hacking. Just because you lose does mean the other hacks.

I agree with Gremlich - I will probably die regularly, especially at first, but my first thought is always - better pilot, or even, lucky shot, rather than "hacker".

Best way to find what hacks we encounter is to look at games based on CryEngine3 (i.e. Crysis 2)

in WOT i have been accused of hacking because i know the map from both sides and know where i like to put a TD to wait for ambush targets.
so when i am running arty and there are no targets in sight and i figure i have time for the reload i lob a shot into one of those places where i like to sit.
most of the time it's just a 1K+ credit shell that gets wasted on a seemingly random shot.
other times it is another mark towards a reaper medal or at least some good damage that softens someone up a bit for whoever gets into a knife fight with that target.

but it is good for a laugh that i get accused of hacking and my response is that if you think there is hacking going on you should report it and let the devs look into it.[as if they didn't already have enough to do].
i have high confidence that if they look into my actions they will see i'm in the clear.
but if someone is hacking it would be nice for the devs to see how they are doing it and see if they can change things so that it can't be done.

even though i am sure hacking happens i'm also sure it's not as common as people claim.

and i agree, i don't mind losing when i play well and the other team plays better, but cheating through exploits or hacking is not the kind of meta-gaming that i want to see.

won't matter for ppl who write their own hacks, especially if they don't distribute them online. the truth is, there's only so much the devs can do about hackers... it's really gonna be down to the community to record and report offending players..

In all likely hood, MWO will be connecting to a client server, which in turn will be validating the game files for MWO and if it sees anything amiss it'll report it or just not allow that person to connect. This doesn't stop aim botters, but it stops people from being able to one shot you out of the spawn.

I would suggest a vetting process for gme mods and having a forum location for hacker reports. Screen shots/videos will probably be able to show evidence of some types of hacks. Stats should be checked for red flags that show super human gaming ability.

I've been accused of hacking because I have such a good quick-aiming skill with mouse... and I had no idea how to prove it that I wasn't hacking. Some times people would vote-kick me off.

There was one time I decided to use my left hand instead (I'm right handed). My aim was about the same except I was little slower and they still accused me of hacking.

So I'd like to suggest these projectile weapon do have falloff over distance, affected by wind, gravity, mech's motion, and barrel heat.

Q:Barrel heat? huh?

As weapon do overheat after few rounds... before it get too hot where it get disabled till it cool down... I think it should affect aim and range as warmer it get. Barrel would have spiral groves that make bullet spin as it exit to hit the mark with smaller degree of margin. As heat expands the barrel, it loose the grove grip on the bullet.

With this suggestion, such hack like typical aimbot can't get around that as they mostly work for games that doesn't have physic law.

Q: What about lasers?

Sigh...

If there is a solid set of statistical information available for everyone then it should be easy to spot bad apples:

Bad players wrongly throwing around the term "hacker" do not rule out the existance of such people. And when someone shoots me through a solid mountain there is no doubt about hacks.

I encountered hackers in BF3 (on a PB server) and I've heard that Crysis2 multiplayer literally got killed by rampant hacking. Burying your head in the sand will not deal with the problem. The devs must have a plan to deal with such people. It's part of their job.

When a team consistently destroys you again and again, there are always people who claim 'hacks' most of the time it is a way for them to feel better about themselves or offload their losses on to some 3rd party reason and not focus on their own misgivings and lack of ability. Some people just can't stand losing. That's not to say, that in the past, and in many other games that hacking does not happen.

The devs need to have something in place to stop it happening. We don't want to see innocent accounts getting bans, but there needs to be an aggressive stance to deal with the issues.

When this was first brought up Russ said that they were taking it seriously but obviously couldn't discuss thei measures they were taking. They do know about the problems and will be doing everything they can to stop/reduce it. Don't forget that they want to make the game a success and unlike Crysis 2 this is MP only.
