What class of mech is everyone thinking of playing?

As for me, I'm very intrigued with the idea of playing a light mech and strapping as many PPCs as I can to it.

that centurion just looks too good. if the mech model in game is close to the concept that's what i'll be driving...or a dragon if not.

Light and Heavy.

Mediums are a poor compromise between the two, and Assaults are mostly too slow.

I like mediums but none of the ones released is really my style, so probably heavies until some good ones show up.

For me it is a real toss up on customization options/costs. In MW2 & MW3 I tanked around in a Blackhawk (medium). I might try to do that again with downgraded tech, or I might try for a heavy or assault.

Medium & Light. It seems there will be an imbalance of heavy and assault class mechs if these initial responses are any indication.

honestly i plan to try all classes.

my favorite on TT is medium... tho i really like a few of the heavier lights.

Heavy/Assault are fun when just wanting to beat the tar outta something..hoping the Roles assigments truely expand us outta the Arms race.

recently played mech commander 2 through again with nothing bigger then 45 tons used,,,it was a blast.(except for mechs captured during the missions.)

Heavy, you got a very respectable amount of firepower while not being too slow. Speed isn't really so important for dodging in a heavy (you're so big it doesn't matter) but rather for manuvering. For example, an atlas would never be fast enough to flank unless you had some serious distraction work happening.

Heavy and Assault most likely. i like firepower and armor. Though mostly Heavy because i prefer to actually make it to the battlefield some time during the fight.

Medium mostly. I like lots of medium mechs due to their speed to armament ratio. Heavies from time to time.

I'll be doing my best to start out in a Heavy (Cataphract). Unless there's a Highlander...then there's going to be a HUGE battle in my head over what to play first since that's one of the handful of Assault designs I would give my left nut to pilot

I'm leaning towards the lighter heavies and heavier mediums. If I end up liking to scout instead of command then I'll likely switch down to the cicada or similar light/light medium.
