I recommend you read 'the art of war' and 'the 13th warrior' by Michael Crichton.

Looking for a more contemporary analogue? Poker players. A guy with the minimum buy in is allowed to match up with people with millions in their purse. Do they see the advantage of their opponents as a liability? or an opportunity?
Do you root for the millionaire in that scenario?
