Anyone around here play Mechwarrior2?
In my mind still the best MW game ever made, along with MW2:Mercs. One of the reasons for that is Jump jetting and DFA No Mechgame since had these nailed down as good as these two.
For those who are unaware of what Im talking about DFA or Death From Above is a risky manouver that can be achieved with quite a bit of skill by Jumpjetting into the cockpits of enemy mechs...
Its risky because its usually better to shoot at your enemies but sometimes in desperate circuimstances (for eg. when all your weapons are destroyed) it used to be a life-saver.
My question is, do you think that this kind of manuver will ever make it into MW:O??? (If they EVER bring back collision that is...)

They wouldn't include the Highlander if DFA wasn't possible.

It was here at one point, I did it to a team mate with a cat C4 in CB while trying to jet to a vantage point.
I imagine it'll make a triumphant return when collisions come back.

Should be fun thing to do with Kodiak. So yes, I hope this gets implemented!

Can't wait to get into a Highlander. Looking forward to a 90 ton mech with JJs. Though, I like to see better JJs than the ones we have atm. I think the patch with the Highlander will roll out with JJ improvements. Maybe some ramming/DFA/etc effects too.

I haven't played with collisions, they were already removed when I got in. But I want the collisions desperately. I'm fed up with the lights running too close.

I DFA'd an enemy atlas in my weaponless stalker.
Shame it only did some piddling collision damage though
A team-mate DFA'd me once and killed himself doing it, which gave me the teamkill penalty.

I remember the first time I went into a match with jump jets - right at the start, I just held down the space bar to see how high my jenner could go, and then on the way down, completely by accident, I landed right on top of a friendly hunchback. That's the only thing I managed even closely resembling DFA in this game before they removed collisions.
