VERY interesting read, that second one, will be getting it as soon as I'm back from work and hammering it all night long for the weekend.

Running the leaked 13.2 beta. It's pretty slick. I notice fewer hiccups while navigating the environment before combat, unlike before.

Wow that article on average frame time is revolutionary to the way I look at FPS and Frame rates in general. Now when someone asks me why I need more than 24fps in my games, instead of vaguely answering it feels better, I can explain why.

Yea, I'm really interested in seeing what happen with the 13.2 betas when they hit actual release [right now they're a leaked version, which some have reported are "not ready" for 'open beta'

I haven't seen any actual performance gain or loss on 31.1, but at least I can use the netflix app in windows 8 again [which requires WHQL sig, which 12.11 beta 11 did not have ; ) ]

Has anyone noticed a boost to 6000 series cards on these new drivers? I'm not a fan of upgrading drivers unless I really need to.

And you would be correct. My GPU compute speed (on a certain non-gaming application) is now a bit slower. But it's a hit I can take until whenever they hammer out all the issues and decide it's ready.

Guessing you're referring to bitcoin mining?

13.1 did fix a few problems 12.9-12.11 were having. I couldn't install any driver past 12.8 because it would cause severe screen corruption (something I saw reported elsewhere around the net as well). The new drivers lack this problem.

I've also seen higher, more steady framerates in MWO, but again, that's vs an older driver, so it makes sense I might see bigger gains than some of you.

They've made some HUGE gains since 12.8. Monumental if one is referencing the 7000 series.

Maybe sometime this week we'll get the "official" 13.2 beta driver. Until then I think I'll give my PC a slight rest, it gamed like a CHAMP this weekend ;)

I won't have a 7000 series until tomorrow when my Sapphire 7970 OC comes in ( ;) ), but even for the 5000 series, it seems MWO likes 13.1 a lot more than 12.8.

Im running 13.2 right now, hard to say if it is an improvement without more testing, in some ways "yes" but ive had some strange in-close fights that dipped to a meager 10 FPS. Maybe in conjunction with the next patch :D

Before with driver 11.6 from last year february 10-20 frames with my old rig...now with 13.1...10-20 frames.
sadly cant see any difference but might be cause my rig is just too old right now to see a real differance.

cant wait to get the new one...if yours is better than 5200+ amd with 3gb ram and 6850 OC card give it a try.
