but in a in close combat it can kill other lights in 1 shot of the ac20 ,
you know Chuck Norris can be put down EZ at a distance with a gun, but in close combat dont even try.
So there, the Urban is the Chuck Norris of the Mechwarrior world.

Which begs the question: Why would you pilot Jar Jar Binks?
Just to watch it die over and over again?!?
Always good to have a mech you enjoy seeing get the crap knocked out of it. Lets you enjoy a match, especially if it has a low repair bill.

Ok, how about a better reason for including an Urbanmech. C-Bills. It costs very little to buy and next to nothing to upkeep. I want to make money fast and I'm a skilled enough pilot to use it well. There is no better option for making money faster (save the fundermechs or being a little girl in combat and hiding the entire game).

There I said it.
You just can NOT hang enough fire power or armor or paint on that thing to make me pilot one.
I’m not trying to be mean but its just the simple truth.
Check your poll results. They reflect two kinds of pilots. Those who love the Urbanmech and those who are not legally blind.
I’m not trying to dispute any mechnerd math about armor and firepower ratios. I’m just saying that even if you kill me in that thing, you will still be piloting a butt ugly terd that not even a mother could love. And I would rather be the smoldering heap it left behind because I still win by comparison.
Oh, I voted FOR the Urbie. And I know it's fugly. The same way an A-10 Warthog is ugly too. It's squat, built around a single heavy gun, and surprisingly tough for it's weight class
It's so ugly it rolls all the way over into cute in my book. And effective. After all, it was one of the classics in EA-era Battletech online because it WORKS and works rather darn well. No joke on liking it, it's a proven, effective design that kicks like a mule and is probably about as good-looking as one...but it's got fight, and anyone who rates their designs on pure pretty deserves to get sawed down by what's been a great ballistics workhorse in the past.

as a walking mine, you can put him right under a heavy's leg, filled with ammo, shoot then in the back and maybe you got a core explosion taking down everything around
But we cant deny that is a classic design and should be include in the game.
ps:Later, as an expansion...

I'm not sure, but I think you just insulted the A-10 Warthog to a devastating degree. After all, the A-10 is more like an Atlas in performance than an Urbie.
I voted no, but not because I don't want it in game; I just don't want it to be in this round. I'd rather have 'Mechs *I* like to pilot available at the beginning, but I'm being selfish that way.
Although, I do like shooting the things... I wonder if that'd make up for the eventual shame of being destroyed by one? ('Cause you KNOW that's going to happen sooner or later...)

Consider that humble "trash can" can literally penetrate anything in it's weight class in one shot, and actually all the way up to anything short of the 50-tonners like the Hunchback, more than half again it's weight. The -60L is a FIERCE little thing, and even the standard -60 will do it in two shots rather than one, never mind easily done refits. Heck, the -60L is the smallest design that can theoretically one-shot any 'Mech in the game thanks to it's AC/20- y'know, that scary gun the Atlas has as it's primary weapon
It's got big teeth in a small package

Seriously, why in the name of the gods would ANYBODY pilot that walking trash can? Correction: It's not a walking trash can... it's a WADDLING trash can! Sure, it may be great for urban environments, but that's not ALL we're going to be facing on the battlefield. What, whenever you invade a planet, are you only going to fight in the cities? If so, all any enemy you ever face has to do is get some LRMs and some gauss rifles, then sit back at 800-1000 meters, and rain death on your head. Doesn't matter if you charge with 8-9 Urbies... they can just pull back, and continue raining death on your head from well out of your range. Your longest reaching weapon can only reach 600m, and that's at extreme range where the accuracy is going to be questionable, whereas LRMs have a range of almost 900m (http://www.sarna.net...Equipment_Lists). Sure, your primary gun does more damage, but your enemy would have 300 meters with which to rain destruction on your head before you can even fire back. Which btw at 33kpm, it'll take you a while to close those +300m. Just my thoughts on the matter, you know.

The Mech is designed for two purposes. The first is to bring as much firepower on a target as possible. The second and more important reason is as an area denial weapon.
That two things you want in city fighting.Though I usually remove the LRM 15 and us tonnage for jump jets and ammo. That 7 tons for the launcher according to sarna wiki link.

CORRECTION: "Haha take that you poor Urbanmech, because you must not be able to afford anything else if you are piloting that! Wait where the **** did he go!??"
*Notices Urbanmech 20 meters away as it tries to run at the blazing top speed of 30+ km/h*
Silly Urbanmech. Warfare is for adults.
*Punches through your "heavy" armor with a medium laser*
*Moves on to an actual threat*
