Silly people. Look at it. It's oooooover niiiiiiine.. wait, it's only 400.

Yes, the maximum engine rating is 400.

Let it sink in for a while.

You'd be wasting the potential of this mech if you bought it and didn't put in a 400 XL.

Fenga, 4-tube launcher in left arm, put in SRM 4's instead of 6's and you'll have a working mech.

I had been thinking roughly along the same lines as the OP though I had considered using standard Large Lasers initially but with the changes to large energy weapons I may consider ER Large Lasers with a 350XL and another DHS. Unfortunately, I cannot calculate any of this via my cell phone. Truly, I am wishing I had the day off right now.

60 dmg/volley, extremely heat efficient, running around at over 90 kph, and with over 450 pts of armor. If you thought the 9M was dangerous then Pretty Baby could be quite scary.

Those certainly are crap hard points. Gonna be tough to make a worthwhile build out of this thing.

XL 400 is too heavy for anything but a gimmick. XL 350 is as high as I would recommend if you'd like to have any more armament than a non XL hunchback that would still be faster than you and half the size.

I'd say the real potential of this mech is in the 30% Cbill bonus, and for that you'd rather have some real guns on there to farm more bills from the damage dealt line item.

I'm kicking around some ideas. Disappointed that it only has two large energy slots, but maybe a closed door is just a window to SRM madness.

480/495 armour
XL385 engine
19DHS
endo-steel
2xPPC (RA and LT)
2xSRM4 (LA)
1xSRM6 (RT)
2 tons of SRM ammo

Gives you some sniping power and some brawling potential up close. I'm hoping the SRM4s in the arm will be deadly accurate so I can punch weakened components close up. Could shave another ton of armour and stick a TAG or MLAS on the head like usual.

I love 3xPPCs on my 9M, but maybe a change would be good.

Might also play around with switching to LLAS or even ERLLAS and LRMs. A combo direct and indirect support boat.

(EDIT: You can see this build on the 9M, just with the hardpoints moved around)

I'm thinking of running an ERPPC, 3xSRM6 (maybe even Artemis), and 2 MLs with an XL380. Its the standard atlas DDC build only you're trading the AC20 out for the ERPPC... And moving a LOT faster.

Yeah, but the hardpoints would be kinda all over the place. Less focus. Probably be okay if you could manage it, just trickery to use than the very simple Atlas (MLAS in arms, everything else torso)

From fiddling with 9M and adding in the 4,5 tons of 400 XL, I've counted you could have

2x LPL
3x SRM4 with 2 tons of ammo
1x ML
with 17 (double) heat sinks

If you put in both Endo Steel and Ferro Fibrous. Afaik, 400 XL should have 1 more heat sink slot than 385, making it 6 slots, which means you can fit in Ferro Fibrous and still have room for the heat sinks.

Or, since they ARE lowering the heat of LPL to 7.3, which is only .3 more than LL, we could consider removing even 2 heat sinks and putting in SRM 6 and 1 ton more ammo. Or MPL and 1 ton more ammo.

The downside would be the low low armor of 448, but you could allocate it mostly in torso and less in legs. With the speeds this mech can do, people wouldn't be able to hit the legs as often.

Very true... And it's kind of a bummer having the missile hardpoints set this way... But it's still head and shoulders above the 9M. You'll still get 6 rockets out per volley on the arm since both launchers will fire at the same time. It won't be as focused, but I guess that's the price you pay for moving at 85kph. Being able to punch stuff in the face out to 800m+ should help offset that a little.

I haven't seen any specs on 400 engine. How many HS slots would this have, 6!? Any links on specs?

Why do you think the PB will be "head and shoulders" above the 9M?

I'm considering headTAG, 2xPPC/ERPPC, 1xLRM15 and 2xSSRM2. Just not sure what engine to go in there....

Should be 33.5 tons with 6 HS slots. 6 tons heavier than the 380 (for less than 5kph more speed). It sounds fun ... but I'm not sure it's worth that much extra weight.

Well it won't be at longer ranges unless you gear it that way. From a brawling perspective, I definitely think having 3xSRM6s is better with more than 5 missile tubes to fire them from. You're also not having to deal with 3 hardpoints tied up between the CT and head. Essentially 3 single slot hardpoints.... Don't get me wrong - I love the 9M, but the hardpoints really are kind of a mess.
