I don't know how much leeway the devs will allow players to alter the continuing timeline but I'd love nothing better than to help shut down the Clan invasion. I hate Clan fanboys, I hated the idea and especially the tabletop advantages of the Clans ever since TRO3050 first came out. Nothing would make me happier than causing them to slam their keyboards in frustration.

FRR seems like a great way to do it :)

Not solely, but mostly. ******* off space elves and I don't really care for the other factions that much is why I am going FRR. Along with just wanting to break the timeline to see how the devs handle it.

If I could I would go periphery pirate. I like the idea of being part of disorgonized group driving around haggard mechs held together by duct tape and prayer. Even if it would result in losing most matches.

I've got no problems with Clan players personally. I do enjoy tweaking them a bit in RP, but that's all in good fun and hopefully the Clanners feel the same way.

I would like to see the FRR acquit itself better than they did in the original canon, though, and plan on doing my best to make it happen.

Pirating actually sounds great, like disreputable mercs basically. Get a small rag-tag crew together and run raids where ever and when ever we can. Clans and factions be damned, I just wanna kill something, and make money doing it.

I would just LOVE to put the Clans to a dead stop at our border and alter the timeline but its not the only or even the strongest reason i have for playing a FRR pilot.

Since i am from Sweden IRL the FRR was the obvious choice for me.

Poking the clan egos certainly made me consider going FRR. I think my Merc company will be taking any and all contracts from the FRR. Give us a hog and a keg of mead and we'll fight for you!

Same for me. I personally liek the whole FRR background pretty much and even without an impending Clan Invasion I'd be joining the FRR. But what the heck, if there are Clanners to kill and an Invasion to stop, I'll more than gladly do my best to alter the timeline as fas as possible for the FRR.

Besides of that, like Carl Wede, I'm from Germany. So for me it is either Steiner or the FRR. But the FRR Backgroudns suits me more (especially being an Asatru myself), so here I am! (or will be)

Fighting the clans was actually the reason I first looked at joining the FRR. Strong enemies, great loot (assuming there is salvage), the possibilty of altering the timeline. And once I found out the people of the Republic were Space Vikings, any thoughts of other factions quickly evaporated.

I am a Clanner. A Warden, at that. The other Wardens will gnash their teeth in frustration at the Crusaders, but do nothing. I put my money where my mouth is: Defending the Inner Sphere from stravag Crusaders.

I'm also of Norwegian extraction and have an affinity for Scandinavian things. Plus, I like democratic republics.

I'm having a hard time NOT joining up with FRR.... I love me my Norse stuff... But, the Federated Suns have a pretty hefty reliance on their mythos as well... Anywho, I'm going to play the game a bit first to see what's what before joining any particular side... hopefully... If I cannot do such a thing, I will sign up with the Rassalhagians. Besides that, I'd love to be on the front lines with the Clans... Maybe score a Summoner in salvage :D

the FRR is going to be very popular just for this reason. Who wants to be putting about the FWL when you can be fighting the clans and maybe getting their sweet loot.

I just hope that the devs don't rail road the story of the game. It's going to suck when they are giving the vat-boys planets "Because its canon!" when they can't hold a planet long enough to refuel their dropships.

Or what if the FRR spanks the Draconis Combine so hard that the FRR should be invading Lutherin? Are the devs just going to say, "NOPE lol!"

Seeing as I am Swedish, I am FRR just purely on the fact that they are Scandinavians. No other real reason...

They could have been the biggest, the smallest, the weakest, the strongest, the lest aggressive, the most aggressive, easiest to play, most difficult to play, evil, good, stone cold dictators... and I would still have joined them!

Hey well, if you Rasahalians are unable to change the timeline we Stieners will stop them at Tharkad! Har har!

Oh man! Just had a thought. If they don't keep it to the canon, and let the battles fall as they may...what if the Clanners push farther than Tharkad? What if they conquer most of the inner sphere?!

The FRR will be fun to play because of the clan war connection and I agree with the others that the viking mythos is also fun.

I think the clanners will be popular because the tech is better, and just for that reason I look forward to fighting them. (I am shameless though, I will use their tech on my IS chassis.)

I have no problem with using the enemy tools against him ;)

Sure, why not use it?

Show them that all their Next-Generation-Warrior Pathos relies solely on their Tech and that, when faced with said tech, they die like everybody else.

Unless the genetically-altered nitwits show up with orbital bombardment on a planetary scale, they ain't gonna. If they do...
Those dirty Kuritans have planets to spare, they ain't gonna miss em.
*Proceeds to plan the conquring of the Draconis Combine, leaving one world for future use as invasion practice.*
