I never knew which faction to join when I started playing MWO. I settled for Davion after reading a bit of the lore relating to the factions, and due to my love of the Centurion. Is there anything about House Davion I should know? (Other then the Autocannon obsession)

Concerning Davion paint jobs. Parade colors are red, white, and blue, but please see my posts and image concerning what I feel are the proper shades. You can also opt for a more specific unit which may or may not use the parade colors (not that parade colors would probably be used in the field anyway, but hey).

There is a Davion TS server, but I have never used it. I play on the Comstar NA one. When I've stepped in there, I've only really seen the Head Hunters of Davion group active. They are a player-created merc unit aligned with the House.

There are plenty of Davion units.

Yes we are probably the most active on the House TS, but a lot of other use their own coms.

HHGD and 1FSAC use the FedSuns TS Server originally set up by 1FSAC,
C4 are on the House one
Scorps probably have their own one
Robinson Rangers probably have their own one
Heck, the list is so long, just look here and I bet if you visited some of the websites you'd find info on them and their servers (assuming they are open ones)

House Kurita has a legitimate claim to the throne of the Federated Suns via Mary Davion.

Centurion was designed by Mariks.

Davions have never done a great mech, they can only use 2nd hand mechs.

Hmm I remember reading somewhere that Davions used quite a few centurions.

the company that builds them for davion has marik origins, however there is a centurion and trenchbucket factory in davion space.

They do, but their actual medium mech is the Enforcer.

Ferrari and Lamborghini are German companies now, but noone's denying they are Italian cars.

I agree with the Cappy, the Centurion and Trebuchet manufacturers have roots in Marik affairs.

At this point in the timeline, Enforcer and Devastator are probably the only well known Davion originated mechs. Hammerhands would be a third, but I've never seen it in a book or game.

I would opt for brighter shades of each of those colors, but you have the idea.

It is a Jihad era mech. You know, one of those they somehow dug up somewhere and went: "Oh yeah, we've been making this crap back in the old days Battletech has never covered. Only for the best ones, ofc."

And since none of the games covered Jihad and books are Blakist oriented, you can see why you've never heard of it.

No, they don't.

Not only did it turn out that the documentation that the Kuritas used to start the Second Hidden War (aka The War of Davion Succession) were counterfeits (determined by the Star League after the conflict), but the bloodline of Vincent Kurita (the son of Mary Davion and Soto Kurita) is not the bloodline of the current Coordinator (who are descended from Soto's brother, Takiro Kurita).

In fact, the House Kurita Family Tree shows that Vincent's bloodline ends with his grandchildren (Joseph, Johnna, Tu, and Loga - who, along with their parents, were detained and eventually murdered by Stefan Amaris during the fall of the Star League),and that the remainder of Mary and Soto's bloodline ends with Vincent's nephew (Thomas) and his sibling (Chada).

While Corean Enterprises may have started in Marik Space, their HQ was relocated to New Avalon and, to quote page 133 of TRO 3039, "The Centurion is considered the unofficial ’Mech of House Davion’s BattleMech forces by most of Davion’s enemies."
Corean's facility on the FWL world of Stewart is now a satellite branch, with Corean itself being considered a FedSuns company. :D

The Federated Suns is the home of General Motors, the company that originally created one of the greatest, most famous, and most beloved BattleMechs of all time... the Marauder!
The rest of the Marauder family - the Maelstrom, the Dragon Fire, and the Nightstar - were also originally designed by GM.
GM also created the Cestus and the Blackjack.

Additionally, both the Hatchetman and the Axman were designed at the NAIS by Dr. B. Banzai.
