I find it interesting that in a game with no knockdowns, balance is this hard to obtain...

In regards to the in game assets you know what needs to be tweaked...
In regards to the massive changes and seemingly limited/no QA testing.
STOP.
I don't know if there's a timeline on someone's wall with huge red X's through it and panic about missing 'critical' deadlines but these changes are haphazard and too aggressive, to the point either QA is not getting sufficient time to test, or someone is making last minute changes and shoving them in.
At my work we call these 'command decisions' and salute them appropriately (one finger...12 o'clock).
It's killing you, the cash shop is open, the BETA moniker is showing it's age, you were voted one of the top 25 FPS in the most recent article of PC Gamer.
It's time to start acting like it.

Similar thoughts have been posted several times, but it never gets old.
And to add a few things (not all Americans are stupid though they may act it, despite our educational system).
Does the heat scale and management have to be identical to the board game?
Nay, but it should not be so dumbed down it makes people wonder why even have a heat scale? Everyone has had to manage heat, or are aware of the effects of extreme heat in their every day lives.
Computers - break things, shutdowns, graphical effects, slow downs, reboots.
Vehicles - bad mileage, troubles driving, fuel vapors.
Bah, being sent to the store...

Fully aware it is not a new idea, but perhaps it's something that should be brought up again, as we're continually running into the same issues (and BETA is the place to take a chance now and again).
It is interesting that in 30 years of being an IP, it hasn't matured or progressed in any significant way. Heat could've been an incredibly complex system, it was just never written that way (most likely because it while it was a main plot assist point, most mech tecnical stuff was sidestepped by the whole 'we don't really know how it works it's future age, lostech magicence).
I'm not saying you need to play with a TI-80 (lord I am so old) calculator next to you, but it's a TT game ported over to a computer, perhaps some complexity would not necessarily be a bad thing.
When you look at the state of online games, I think we're seeing the initial stages of the death of simple, instanced shooters and the birth (or rebirth) of more complex, immersive models simply being condensed for time in game.

I think one area this game could improve more than most instanced battle drop style games is to give brief tutorials on role warfare and the tactics that go with them.
The common thought process is 'bigger is best' and with the current iteriations of ECM/BAP (or baby BAP since it's not fully implemented yet) there is no role for light other than Assault.
Actually have tutorial vids (since we don't have a robust training mode yet and may not for some time) on bait and switch, luring, fast snipe and run pre-engagement stuff would be incredibly beneficial not only for light pilots to understand their roles, but also the heavy pilots who don't get why we're out there.
HSR has made it harder for lights, and the lack of supporting roles make it difficult to survive long, even so I don't know if there's a faster way to turn the tide of battle if you have a solid light (or 3) pilot on your side.
12 v 12 will show case this even more, when you can get a lance (or 2) of fast movers, tactics will change alot (especially on the larger maps).
